"I've just realised. I never asked you what you want to study next year?"

"You didn't? How rude of you."  I laughed as I text Mia a close up of the food with a drooling emoji. I didn't know if I should tell her he was here or not right now. I might do tomorrow once I felt a little more relaxed.

"I know I'm sorry." He laughed and handed me the spoon. "So what are you wanting to study?"

"Well I'm thinking of going into cheer coaching. Maybe. I'm not sure. So I'm taking sport. But my parents demanded I take business just in case and if coaching fails I can take over the business for them."

"Woah. You've got it all figured out then?"

"Barely." I scoffed "I don't really want to go into business. I love being active way too much to be sat in an office. But coaching isn't the greatest life path."  I put some pasta in my mouth, chewing calmly.

"Why not?"

"Well it's like any coaching. Its essentially teaching right? But the people your teaching, especially with sports like cheer, they can get hurt and it throws everything off. It's happened to us, minutes before a big game and then you have to have plans in case that happens."

"I've seen you handle all of that so well though. What makes you think you couldn't do it as a job? I mean you do it now right?"

"Essentially yeah."

"So why can't you?"  I looked at him as I ate, he really liked making me think about things didn't he. "Sorry I didn't mean to-"

"No. No, you're right. I was just thinking."

"About what?"

"About how you keep making me second guess things. Think a little bit harder, not block things off as options before I get there."

"Hey, that's what I'm here for." He shrugged and drunk from his glass. "So you're taking both?"

"Yeah."

"That sounds fun." I laughed at him. "Have you thought about college any more?"

"A little. I think I know which one I'm leaning towards. I'll have to keep thinking though. It depends on this summer really."

"Why this summer?"

"Well if I get sick of my parents I'll go to the one further away." He laughed and I smiled. We both focused on our food and it fell quiet. The music playing in the background. "Seph?"

"Hm?" I nodded with my mouth full, urging him to continue.

"I've had fun with you tonight. The most fun I've had in a while." I looked at him and my stomach started doing cartwheels again. I stopped chewing as the words left his mouth. I was in shock. I think I was looking into this too deep. He's just saying he's enjoying my company right? I looked up at the speakers as Ivy by Taylor swift started playing. Now? Seriously? I was going to have a panic attack. I finished chewing and looked at him.

"I've had fun too." He nodded and turned back to his food. Talking with him didn't feel forced like it did with some other people. I felt like the conversation stopped and started naturally. But we were comfortable in each others silence too.

"So. What are the plans for the week then?" He looked at me breaking into a smile again.

"Oh." I smiled brightly. "There's a pool, and the beach is just down some stairs at the back of the house. The main room has big black out curtains on so we can do movie nights. There's a barbeque too."

"Movie night with you sounds so good right now."  His eyes grew wide as he stared at his food. "I mean-"

"We can do that now if you want?"  He looked up at me and I shrugged. "There's plenty of time to study and I honestly can't be fucked anyway."  He laughed and sat back in his chair, crossing his arms loosely. It was still flexing his biceps though. In the black top. I could just cuddle up to him right now, under his arms. In his warmth.

"Let me guess. You have a movie room?"

"I do." I smiled and nodded. "A snack bar too." He shook his head smiling brightly.

"Go set it up then. I'll tidy up."  We both stood up from our chairs.

"You don't have to."

"Go." He put his hands on my shoulders, pushing me gently away from the sink. I stood in the doorway and watched him. I think I'm developing a crush. Just a crush. It could only be a crush. It has to only be a crush. "What are you doing?" I shook myself from my thoughts and looked at him rather than the blank space.

"Just day dreaming. Sorry." I turned around and raised my eyebrows. Oh god. Definitely a crush.

I walked upstairs quickly, trying to put some space between us. Blankets.  We'd need blankets. You can't have a movie night without them. They're in the cupboard in there. I pushed the door open, leaving it open so he could find me.

Flicking the lights on so I could see everything better. I flicked the switch for the mini popcorn machine, filling it and letting it do its thing.  I slowly walked down the stairs and stood on the sofa to turn on the projector. It was connected to a laptop on the cupboard in the corner of the room so that was next to go on, entering the family password quickly.

I was so excited for this. I hadn't had a drama free night in in years. I just wanted to watch some films and us both go to separate beds where nothing would happen. It was a crush. And he was my ex's ex best friend. Nothing could happen.

"Seph?"

"In here." I shouted back as I brought up Netflix and turned around.

"Woah you weren't joking about the snack bar." I smiled at him, walking away and coming up to be beside him.

"Bowls are just under the popcorn machine. Drinks in the fridge. I just need to go grab my phone and pee. Netflix is loaded but I don't know what you want to watch."
