Ch 7: Confession 1.

A/N: only two more days and then I free from the bondage of examination and could die in a ditch.

"I said I was sorry!"

"Come down from the tree right now, I swear to God-"

"Come on, Subaru, it was just a mistake~"

"Hence why I'll punish you. Come down here, you rat!"

Laito teleported himself onto a tree as Subaru yelled from underneath. drawing quite some attention to themselves in the process.

And where was Anim?

No, he didn't wonder off; he was just standing away from the crowd and laughing silently at Laito's misery. Subaru can just punch the tree down if he wishes; he is just enjoying making Laito suffer.

Anim enjoyed the view from the back as he chuckled at them.

It was all fine and merry until he saw the tree fall over Laito. One of the branches tears through his chest and heart as he dies on the spot. At least... That's what he thought.

Anim widens his eyes as he shifts his gaze away from the two, wondering what he just hallucinated about. Laito was fine; the tree was still in place; then why did he imagine this? The blurry feeling clouded his thoughts more and more as each second passed.

He looked around him as everything seemed to turn into something entirely different. Anim inhaled heavily as he just closed his eyes and tried to calm down.

"Anim? You good?"

He opened his eyes, looking at Subaru as his daze finally seemed to calm down. "Subaru..." He looked down and rubbed his eyes, saying, "Yeah... I am fine."

"Hm... You're lying. Look at you, you are looking so pale." Subaru frowned, cupping Anim's cheeks as he guided his face up and asked, "What's wrong?"

"...." He didn't say anything; he debated whether he would only make Subaru more worried by telling him the truth. He didn't want to make him worry. Subaru is his good friend, maybe even more. He would rather see him enjoy today than see a frown and a worried expression.

"I am fine, Subu! Just a little sleepy I guess? " Anim smiled after he gave a stupid answer, "don't worry about it!"

"How do you expect me to not worry about it?..." Subaru frowned more, caressing the boy's cheek with such care and love. There is a reason why Anim didn't want to tell him; if he is worried just by seeing him pale, god knows what would happen if he actually told him what he saw.

"Aha! Where is Laito?" Anim asked, trying to divert the topic.

Subaru let's go of Anim's face as he crossed his arms, "He ran away... But I did throw a pebble at him before he ran away, so

"He should have just thrown a brick."

"I know. Missed opportunity"

And Anim just swept the topic away with excellence. Good Job.

"Subaru? You still haven't told me about your important "something."

"Ho shit. Um.. yeah. Ugh." Subaru stammered, rubbing the back of his neck. "Yeah uh-"

"Subu, did you perhaps lie?"

"I- No"

"Come on, admit it!"

"I already found my important "something" a while ago," Subaru claimed, much to Anim's surprise. He was pretty sure that Subaru was just bluffing when he said he was looking for something.

"Ho? Then what is it?" He asked. Subaru took a breath, looking around a bit. He held Anim's hand and placed the other on his cheek, dipping his head down to kiss his forehead with such gentleness and love.

"I found you... What more could I ask for...?"

He let go of him, immediately blushing red as a tomato. "AH- Anyways. Since this is done, it's time for me to get out of here!" He spoke as he took Anim's precious statue: "I'll take this with me; you can enjoy the carval. S-see ya!"

He ran away. Anim could only stand there. It all happened so fast that he couldn't even process his own thoughts about it. Realization hit him when he watched Subaru disappear, a blush creeping onto his cheeks as he smiled, chuckling a bit.

"Was that a confession...?" He chuckled.

Somehow he knew that Subaru would deny it being a confession if he asked about it... But he felt quite good...
