Baelon II Velaryon is the son of Rhaenyra Targaryen. Just like his mother he was a strong willed dragon rider. Built for the clouds and forged for fire. He was meant for greatness. But the legacy of his family weighed heavily on his shoulders.

Baelon stood beside his mother as the Hand of the King stood before the throne of his Grandsire. The old man stared at the court with smugness and malice as he spoke down at them all. "Though it is the great hope of this court that Lord Corlys Velaryon survive his wounds, we gather here with the grim task of dealing with the succession of Driftmark." Otto states over the low chatter of the court.
Baelon met his mother's annoyed gaze with a grin of his own. It was amusing to see the man act like he wasn't. The prince couldn't bring himself to be respectful.
At the other end of the throne room, stood Aemond, who watched him silently, as did Helaena. While Cahir, the princess guard, watched Aemond carefully. After years of defending their sister and watching the family, he grew to know Aemond. He knew all his hidden desires, it was a hard feat due to Aemond keeping to himself, but he couldn't help himself from snooping when he had the chance.
"As Hand, I speak with the King's voice on this and all other matters." Otto states, he then slightly turns and he takes a seat on the iron throne, it is obvious how he took to the throne, his whole body relaxing.
"The Crown will now hear the petitions." Otto states
The Targaryen children stood beside their mother, facing away from the throne and towards the court. Baelon kept his gaze away from Aemond and Helaena, keeping them narrowed onto Aegon, who looked as if he wanted to be everywhere but here.
He rocked back and forth on his feet blowing raspberries with his mouth, acting like a child, oblivious to Baelon's glare. "Ser Vaemond of House Velaryon." Otto announces.
Vaemond smirks, turning to Rhaenyra and her children, stepping forward.
Vaemond knew he had the favor of the Hightower lot, so he grew confident and cocky. "My queen." Vaemond starts, his eyes meeting with Alicents and then Otto's. "My lord's Hand." Veamond says, Otto answers with a nod of his head.
"The history of our noble houses extends beyond the Seven Kingdoms to the days of Old Valyria. For as long as House Targaryen has ruled the skies, House Velaryon has ruled the seas. When the Doom fell on Valyria, our houses became the last of their kind. Our forebearers came to this new land, knowing that were they to fail, it would mean the end to their bloodlines and their name. I have spent my entire life on Driftmark defending my brother's seat." Vaemond states, taking in the court, not letting their stares bother him.
"I am Lord Corlys's closest kin, his own blood. The true, unimpeachable blood of House Velaryon runs through my veins." Vaemond says, meeting Alicent's gaze, smirking.
Baelon wanted to roll his eyes, but he kept a calm exterior. Reckon coughs a silent laugh from behind Luke, making the boy hold back a smile.
Aemond looked up from the ground, smirking when he met Baelon's gaze.
