Kingslanding

。.✦ ☾

Baelon watched his mother, as she walked through court with Alicent at her side, the two women held a constant smile on their lips. It's as if the previous years never existed.

He watched it all with anger. He didn't trust the queen, he loathed her.

Daemon steps up beside him, placing a hand on the terrace. "What are you and the others conspiring." Daemon whispers as if someone could be listening in. Baelon doesn't flinch or turn to look at him, watching those below. "I haven't the slightest clue on what you are talking about." Baelon states

"It takes you years to return to Kingslanding, promising that you'd never step foot until Rhaenyra was queen. And now you're here and yet your mother hasn't ascended, there must be something." Daemon states

Baelon turns his head to look at him. "There is nothing Daemon, no plan. I am just ensuring that her throne is secured, it's what I've been doing for years. I am her heir and this is my duty. Yes, I made a promise to wait, to stand back, but I'm done waiting." Baelon states harshly.

Daemon hums, eyeing the prince's face. "So am I. I don't doubt you have your mother's best interest at heart, but be careful with who you mess with." Daemon warns

Baelon grunts in reply, looking over to see Aemond at the other end of the court, watching them.

....

Cahir steps stood outside of Helaena's bedroom, watching as people pass him, eyeing the knight. It took him years to understand that they despised him for his armor. He wasn't the same as others, they didn't trust him.

Soon the knight that came to switch him out, approaches him, offering him a small nod. Cahir returns it, stepping away from his post and passing him, feeling a weird chill run down his spine.

He pauses briefly, before turning. The knight was already watching him. "Everything alright." He asks, his voice ragged and sharp. Cahir grunts and continues walking.

....

Arianne walked through the corridors, her head held up high as she passed nobles and servants as they all watched her intently, silently judging her.

Arianne stops before a guard as he stands between the room she plans on entering. "May I be announced to the princess Helaena?" Arianne asks

The knight stays silent, frustrating the woman. Arianne huffs, "Very well, I'll do it myself." She grumbles as she moves to open the door, but the knight snatches her wrist. "Go away, bastard." He hisses

Arianne scoffs a laugh. "You're hilarious, now remove your hand before I remove it for you." Arianne warns

The knight chuckles, eyeing her up and down. "You're a little thing, what damage can you do." He sneers, and suddenly he doubles over in pain as Arianne knees him in the genitals. "Careful, this little thing packs a mean punch." Arianne hisses, pushing past him and through the double doors.

What she saw was not what she expected. Princess Helaena was shoved into her bed, with her mouth clamped shut by a leather hand, her eyes were wide with fear.

Thankfully her clothing was still intact. And if she had wasted any time, it may not have remained that way.

"Get your hands off of her!!!" Arianne shouts, outraged and disgusted, her warning does nothing to dismay the man, who only smirks at her and rips the princess's dress, making her thrash. "Don't worry bastard, when I'm done with her, I'll give you a little taste." He sneers

Before he can continue, a dagger is embedded into his skull. Arianne pants heavily as she lowers her hand, eyes hard, watching as blood spluttered out of his mouth and nose, as well as his eyes.

Unfortunately, the blood covered the princess as the corpse collapsed on top of her. Helaena shouts in fear, shoving the man off of her, sitting up, and pushing herself away. She was drenched in blood, her once-white hair now completely red.

Helaena continues to wail in pain and fear, her hands coming up to her mouth. She always hated the sight of blood, but now it was all over her.

Arianne rushes to her side, uncaring for the state of her dress as she makes her way onto the bed. The brunette grabs hold of Helaena's hands as they cover her ears. "Princess, princess, please." She whispers softly, gently soothing her. "It's okay princess, you are safe. I promise." Arianne breathes, gently bringing her into a hug.

Helaena doesn't stutter in her cries.

The guard from before stumbles, a renewed anger in his eyes, he grabs hold of his sword and unsheathes it. Arianne whirls around and she hides the crying princess behind her, she doesn't have another dagger on her, leaving her defenseless. She doesn't know how long she can hold him off with her fists.

Before she can test it, a sword is embedded into the approaching man's shoulder, making him tense up and look towards the blade, his eyes widening as he collapses.

Cahir pants as he stands above the corpse. "Princess, are you alright." He asks Arianna. The woman looks up from the body, "Uh yes, but it is not I who you should worry yourself with, call for a maester, Helaena might wounded." Arianne breaths

"I-I can't leave you alone!" Cahir stutters

"We'll be fine! Now go!" She orders, turning to the shell-shocked princess. "Princess, please, snap out of it. I understand this is a scary moment, but the maesters will come in at any moment and they will question you harshly. They will want to know if you are still intact. And we both know you are, but they won't. They are old fat men, who think one attack can ruin a woman. But you aren't ruined! I promise I'll never leave your side, we are sisters." Arianne says strongly, gently cradling her arms.

Helaena stops her soft mumbling, looking up and meeting Arianne's worried gaze. "I always wanted a sister." She whispers, forgetting for a moment she had one.

Arianne softly laughs, nodding. "Yes, we're sisters." Arianne promises

....

A/N

Okay, initially I wanted this chapter to be an attack on Maegor, like in the previous chapters, and also like before I wanted Baelon to rescue her, but I was like, hold up better idea.

Arianne is a badass Dornish woman, and I wanted to introduce the women to each other properly. Well....at least have them interact. And I was thinking about this show Reign, where Queen Mary was attacked, sadly by these horrible men, and I thought about how her mother-in-law told her to stand tall and forget what those men did to her, that it didn't make her any less of a Queen. It was a true moment between those two.

So I had Arianne be that person to save Helaena, to have them become sisters, even if they barely knew each other. I wanted them to bond, like this is a true moment between the two, not fabricated by Baelon and Reckon.

Arianne initially went to meet with the princess so they could talk, to get to know one another, they are the mothers of Baelon's children. They had that connection. The two girls are so alike and different at the same time. Helaena deserves a sister at her side.

And yes I know Rhaenyra is her half-sister, but she's too busy with Alicent and her pregnancy, and plus she's not as close to her age as Arianne is.

Damn, this was a long author's note. I also wanted to say that I am sorry if this triggered anyone, it's never my intention. I love you all from the bottom of my heart.
