Storms End

。.✦ ☾

Prince Lucerys and Prince Baelon flew over Shipbreaker Bay and landed at Storm's End amid a severe thunderstorm.

A detachment of Baratheon guardsmen is waiting for them, as is Vhagar to their horror. Baelon stares at the dragon, his heart jumping to his throat. He wasn't prepared to see Aemond, not after all they've gone through.

....

"Mother is over her head, she rants to me about the Maesters and lords pushing to get me a lady wife. Thankfully she doesn't want to let go. And I don't want to marry." Aemond admits, he was laid on his stomach, perched onto his elbows as he faced Baelon.

Baelon sits up, lifting a hand and pushing back any stray hair from Aemond's face. "Good, I wouldn't want to share." Baelon mumbles

Aemond hums, "imagine how I feel." He whispers, looking down. Baelon lowers his hand and he raises Aemond's chin. "I married for political gain, not because of love. I do care for Arianne, but I don't want her like I want you." Baelon states

Aemond smiles. His lips stretched perfectly across his face.

....

Luke was the first to climb down from his dragon and then Baelon, the gravel crunching underneath their feet. The two meet with the guards standing at the head of the castle.

"I am Prince Lucerys Velaryon and this is my brother, heir to the Queen, Prince Baelon Velaryon. We bring a message to Lord Borros from the Queen." Luke states, ignoring the growls of Vhagar.

The guards move to open the doors, with the two princes following after. "The Princes Lucerys Velaryon and Baelon Velaryon. Sons of Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen." A Baratheon knight announces

At the end of the hall was Aemond, standing with one of the Baratheon girls. At the mention of Baelon's name, he looks up and turns, keeping his expression unbothered.

Luke finds Aemond's gaze first, breathing nervously and fearfully. Baelon ignores him altogether.

Thunder continues.

"Lord Borros, we've brought you a message from our mother...the Queen." Baelon states, holding his hands behind his back, meeting the lord's gaze.

Borros scoffs to himself. "Yet earlier this day, I received an envoy from the King." Borros says

Baelon finally meets Aemond's gaze, both of them filled with anger. "Which is it? King or Queen? The House of the Dragon does not seem to know who rules it." Borros says
