Dragonstone

。.✦ ☾

Aemond roughly lands a mortality wounded Vhagar on Dragonstone, the ground trembling under her form. He watches as a garrison of men rush towards him, all with their swords drawn.

Aemond drops his own sword off the side of Vhagar, showing his hands.

He steps off his dragon, walking towards the guards. He stared at them all with a dead look in his eye, empty and hollow. Every step felt like a thousand.

His face was sullen and cut, his hair a mess as it was tugged out of its tie. His eyepatch was ripped off his face from Baelon's hard grip on his hair.

He was miserable and broken.

Rhaenyra approaches with a wild look in her eye, Luke follows, eyes red-rimmed. Before anyone can stop her, she slaps him across the face, watching as his head lurches to the side.

Aemond finally collapses to his knees, looking back at Rhaenyra. "Please, forgive me." Aemond begs, eyes filled with tears. "I loved him." Aemond whispers

Daemon steps forward. "Loved him" Rhaenyra scoffs, tilting her head. She shakes her head. "That wasn't love." She sneers, her own tears pulling at her eyes. She lost a son because of this monster, she will ruin the Hightowers for it.

Arianne runs forward, pushing past the guards. "YOU BASTARD!" Arianne shouts, she is caught by Reckon before she can stab him with the dagger raised in her hand. The young lord held back tears of his own, he had lost a friend.

"You took the father of my child!" Arianne sobs, thrashing in Reckon's hold, finally collapsing in his arms as she cries.

"I need you to kill me, sister." Aemond begs

Rhaenyra scoffs in disgust. "Don't call me that." She hisses "Please, I'm begging you, I don't deserve to live in a world where I killed the only good thing in my life. I don't deserve anything." Aemond breaths, eyes wide and filled with pain.

"Was revenge really worth it?" Luke asks, breaking the silence. Aemond turns to him, softly shaking in his place. The prince wildly shakes his head. This was out of character of him, Baelon's death had broken him.

"No." Rhaenyra says, shaking her head. "You get to live with this. Like you said, you deserve nothing, not even death. Death is too kind for the likes of you." Rhaenyra says

Rhaenyra turns to her husband, her eyes red. Daemon wanted to disagree with her choice, but he understood. "A son for a son." Daemon whispers

Rhaenyra looks away.

"You'll regret this! I'm not done! I'll come after your other sons, I'll kill them all!" Aemond shouts, trying to provoke her into having him killed, Vhagar roars from behind him, causing the Queen to stop in her tracks.

She turns to look at him. "You won't have the chance, Prince Aemond. I can and I will demolish your home, I'll destroy the Hightower name. I'll take back what is mine. And I will honor my son." Rhaenyra promises, and she turns to her guards. She couldn't stand to see Aemond's face any longer. "Take the prince to the dungeons, and silence him please, he's said enough." Rhaenyra orders emotionlessly.

Daemon turns to Lucerys as he silently mourns. Jace still hasn't returned, so Luke had no one.

Aemond closes his eyes, tilting his head up to the sky. "Forgive me." He whispers

A/N

And that's the end!!!! I don't know how I feel about the epilogue, I did shed a few tears lol. But it's so out of character, Idk, I say that with everyone.

Aemond just wants to be with Baelon, which unfortunately won't ever happen, sorry bb girl. He only went to Dragonstone to repent, to see if he earns their forgiveness that he might forgive himself, but be so for real right now, lol.

Depending on season 2, I don't know if I'll continue this story, I feel like there's so much I can still write. Like Cahir, Maeger, and Arianne.

Let me know how you felt about the ending, did it take away too much from Baelon's death?

I was also low-key planned on killing Aemond in this chapter, but I don't know if that would be a smart idea.
