It Was Much Worse

*This is gonna be a long one. Settle in.*

It seems to be some sort of a rule or something that the person who has stayed over at the friend's house is naturally the one to wake up first and I'd like to begin a protest.

I have been able to pull off 12 HOUR SLEEPS, uninterrupted, might I add, in recent history but as soon as I go over to a friend's house, I'm waking up before them.

We fell asleep at around the same time and I had a good 9/10 hours but she's still unconscious.

If I didn't know any better, I'd think she was hungover.

I'm pondering over the consequences of throwing something at her to wake her up while finding something to do on my phone when I get a text from Benny.

Benny: You awake and she isn't?

Me: Have you resorted to stalking?  Looking in through the window maybe...

Benny:  I can see that you're active

Benny: How was it?

Me: We fell asleep not long after getting here so I can't really say anything yet

Benny: I can come and pick you up when you want me to *wink wink*

Me: You just got your license. Don't get so cocky

Me: I'll be heading over to Florence's store to drop off the project she assigned to me on the way back anyway so I can just meet you at Rino's or something

Benny: Just let me know when you dropped it off so I know when to head out

Me: Will do but I have to start finishing it so...

Benny: You can't keep talking or you'll get distracted

Benny: I got you

After he sent that last text, I knew I was good to start working so I picked up the stuff I brought over here to finish the piece of clothing I was assigned.

I wasn't doing too much so it shouldn't take me less than half an hour.

"Hey." I hear a tired Ivy say before yawning.

"Hey." I repeat, slightly more energized than she is.

I would look over to her but I'm making specific alterations with a very pointy needle so I don't think I should remove my eyes from it at the moment.

"You hungry?" she asks.

"Hells yeah." I answer her. "Just let me finish the last of this first so I don't have to come back to it after."

"I'll go let one of the old geezers out there know." she says before getting up and walking out of her room.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I was right in my silent prediction earlier. It only took me 10-ish minutes to finish.
Now, I'm sitting on one of the chairs at their island, talking to Ivy's parents as they make breakfast.
Ivy's in her bathroom cleaning her self up a bit. I already did my morning routine and changed clothes before coming out for breakfast.
"I just don't have that kind of patience." I tell her dad, Darren as he's instructed me to call him. "I think people who want to learn another language and have the ability to stay committed are incredible but I'll do it for a week and forget about it."
"I feel that." he agrees. "Aren't you taking Spanish in school?"
"Nope. Sign Language." I say.
"That's cool. I like that." he complements me.
