Miss Softie looked outside at the January snow. Then she looked around the Buckhorn. Everyone seemed a little down.
"I think it's the cold," she concluded.
She recalled the elaborate afternoon teas at the St. James Tearoom, where she came from. They always made you feel warm inside.
"What we need are some tea and crumpets!" she thought.
She went around to the Bears with her idea. Brandy, Bonkers, Michael, Shirley, Madame Zima—everyone, even Biker Raj, thought it was a grand idea.
Except for JB.
"Tea!" he sneered. "I don't want no boiled leaves to drink!"
Miss Softie was undeterred.
She set out three kinds of tea—English Breakfast, Cardamom, and Raspberry Zinger—and lots of crumpets with butter and strawberry jam.
Everyone dug in.
After everything was gone, it seemed like JB had had the most.
He collapsed, completely stuffed. "Just don't make me eat this all the time," he mumbled.
