One day, when JB was working in the Pinos Altos mines, the rains came and started the biggest flood he'd ever seen!
He rode logs down the Pinos Altos Creek all the way to Silver City, where the flood turned Main Street into the Big Ditch!
Suddenly, under a bridge, he saw a pretty blue Bear, crying, "À moi!"
Climbing out of the Big Ditch, he had no idea what she'd said, but she was cute.
After he "rescued" her, he thought she exclaimed, "Tu es mon heros! Je m'appelle Shirley."
Now, Shirley and JB live together in a house right next to the Pinos Altos Creek (hoping it never floods again!).
