A couple newcomers stopped by the Buckhorn one day. Everyone welcomed them into the pinochle games and got them an extra round of sarsaparillas.
After a bit, they commented on a picture of one of Randy's rainbows. They had heard about him.
"We thought he was some kind of extra special Bear," they challenged. "This rainbow looks a bit wimpy. Can't he do any better?"
Randy and the Bears glanced at each other. Things had been going so well, too.
After the newcomers left, Randy sighed. "Some people demand a "sign" or a "contest" to feel wonder. It helps them feel 'superior' in some way."
A couple days later, the Bears were outside having fun playing games and showing each other what they could do.
For his part, Randy threw up a double rainbow as a background.
He really made the colors stand out.
All the Bears were laughing and joyful being together. And the rainbows encircled them and made them feel wonderful.
Later, back at the Buckhorn, everyone broke out the cards and passed around the sarsaparillas.
Of course, it was Dakota who said it: "I love this place!"
