Nearly Witches (Ever Since We Met)

Author's Note: My mom tested positive for COVID. I don't have it thankfully, but I'm self isolating, and am wearing a mask, trying to stay as healthy as I can. I'll keep you updated, but, so far, I'm perfectly fine. 

One shots (Seokjin):

The Salem Witch Trials were a dark time for the town of Salem, Massachusetts.

It was a series of hearings and prosecutions involving witchcraft that went on between February 1692, and May 1693.

More than 200 people were accused of being witches, and about thirty people were found guilty, nineteen of whom were executed by hanging- fourteen women, and five men.

It was a time of year for the people of the town- most of them going into hiding, due to the fact that they didn't want to be accused of such darkness.

And one of those people was a young man named Seokjin Sanders.

He was the breadwinner of his family, working as an apprentice at the local blacksmith, trying his best to support his younger brothers.

They were orphans, their parents died when they were young, leaving them in the care of the local orphanage.

That was until he was eighteen, when he became the legal guardian of his younger brothers, moving them into a log cabin, doing his best to take care of them.

He had a secret however- one that nobody knew about, including his younger brothers.

He was a male witch.

He found out that he was a witch on his sixteenth birthday, after lighting a candle and making a birthday wish.

He was surprised when he found out- especially since he knew that witchcraft was frowned upon- but he quickly accepted his powers, never using them in public.

He would only use them at night, when both his brothers- and most of the city- were asleep, knowing that was the safest time to practice his abilities.

He quickly got used to them, finding himself practicing spells often, causing mayhem across the town every now and then, getting revenge on the people who messed with his family.

They were looked down upon, due to the fact that they were orphans, spending most of their childhoods at the orphanage, getting starved and beaten.

And he blamed the adults for that- due to the fact that they didn't have a stable upbringing- which was one reason why he decided to mess with the people who played a part in their awful upbringing.

Which was half the adults in the town, to be honest.

This went on for a couple of years, until he stopped one day, after revealing his powers to a young maiden, who caught him attempting to burn a house down one evening.

Her name was Sarah Dennis.

Her father was a pastor in the town, who spoke out against witches and witchcraft, believing that they were the devil in disguise.
