DAY 18

GUESS WHO WAS WAITING by my locker today? No, it was not Tessa and surprisingly, it wasn't Cameron. But Maddie! (Note the sarcasm) Maddie was there by my locker talking to her cronies. I'm not sure if she's just there to torment me or to just piss me off by me not being able to get to my locker. I don't know but she is certainly going to do both. I walked towards my locker ignoring the glares from Maddie's minions.

"Excuse me." I try to get past to my locker when Maddie blocked it and smiled at me.

"Hi Violet."

"Uh hi?" I said as I opened my locker.

"So, you're friends with the new kid?"

"Uh, no." Ugh, all people ask me is about that new kid. Didn't they know that Cameron was here all school year? He even made friends and even a band for Christs sake..!

"No? Well you guys have been really friendly lately." She flipped her hair back "Really, friendly..."

"What exactly are talking about Maddie?"

"Well...  You are like one of the prettiest girls here..." She giggled along with her wanna-be's. "But of course, not as pretty as me..."

I just rolled my eyes. "Yeah, not as pretty as you. Pretty fake as I should say." Shots fired. Her minions had their mouths flung open and Maddie just looked at me as if I have a right to speak. She just laughed and her minions laughed along with her.

"Funny Violet. Very funny Violet..." She glared at me.

"What is it do you wan't to talk to me about anyways?"

"Oh, that..." Her blonde hair is getting to her head again... "Well, people have been talking lately and saying that you and this Carlton guy are hanging out a lot..."

"Um, why do you care and by the way, his name is Cameron..." I glared at her.

"Wow, you really do know him don't you? Anyways, all I'm saying is that you are like popular in this school and I hate to see your reputation go down just because you are hanging out with some dork..." She placed her hand on my shoulder and smiled at me sympathetically. I could actually hear just how fake she sounds.

"Again, why do you even care and what makes you say I'm popular?"

"Well, I guess your popular because people say your pretty and hot..." She and her minions laughed again. "And I guess it's because people talk about you a lot..." She smirked. People do actually talk about me because they think I'm sort of a bully. I never bullied anyone. I only punched a jock in the face once because he tried to touch my ass. That's not bullying. I call that self-defense.

"I don't care Maddie. Just leave me be..." I walked away. I hear them giggle and talk about Cameron.

"Omg, I can't believe she likes him!"

"Yeah. I guess dorks attract dorks..."

"I know that you're like prettier than her Maddie but it's just a waste of how she looks!"

Mean girls, they are in every high school...

At 3rd period, everyone was talking about my run in with Maddie. I came in and everyone was just staring at me. I hate this. I just walked towards my seat, trying to avoid the looks from people. I sit in the far back and pretend to write something down. I could hear their comments and such even if it is in whispers.

"That's her?"

"She's kinda hot..."

"No wonder Maddie hates her so much."

"Are those real?"

"That Caleb guy is really lucky... Or was it Callum?"

Speaking of the devil (Well, everyone was talking about him), Cameron came in. He spotted me in the far back and smiled. He approached me and  sat in the chair next to me. He doesn't seem to notice the looks of people as he was walking.

"Hi."

"Hey Cameron."

"Have you noticed that people were looking at you?" He looked around at the people looking at, not me, Cameron. When Cameron would look at them, they would look away. Creeps.

"No.. They were looking at you..." I muttered. "You are now the talk of the school."

He looks at me, puzzled.

"No, they're looking at you of course..."

"Why would they do that?"

"I don't know. You're pretty." I could feel my cheeks heat up. Normally people would compliment me but I beg to differ. I'm not pretty. But now that Cameron says it, I couldn't help but smile. I just roll my eyes and ignore him.

"Whatever Cameron. But trust me, these weirdos are talking about you..." Our teacher came in and started to do this thing called "teaching". As our teacher yaps and such, I found myself looking at Cameron. I only identified him as some nerd or a dork but now that I see him everyday, he's different in my perspective. At day, he is just a simple dude sticking to me like glue and always seems to have a pair of headphones with him wherever he goes. And at night, he's some kind of rocker singing songs that will keep you up at night just thinking about the way he sings a song. A song just for you. Everyone is talking about Cameron and everyone thinks he's so cool. And I just couldn't help but feel slightly overprotective of him.
