Herah and I are in my room eating ice cream as we sit on my bed.

Well, our bed. It is nighttime, the perfect time as Herah has a lime green facemask smeared all over her face.

At first, I had thought that the mask was dry or one of the peel-off ones, voicing this thought to Herah, who laughs at me.

"I mean what did you think would happen?!" Herah asks, laughing loudly as she falls back.

"I don't care," I tell her getting her attention and wiping the excess product off of my lips seductively, laughing as she watches me.

"You're the sweetest," Herah says speaking up after a moment of silence.

I laugh, looking down.

"Mmm...The mask doesn't...actually taste that bad." I confess.

Herah nods giving me a weird look. She then gets up and heads into the bathroom.

"I'll rinse it off for you, ok, boo?" Herah says, giggling as she enters.

I walk over to the door leaning on the frame and watch as she does.

"I thought it was dry," I tell her causing her to laugh again, under the water.

After she's done and reaches for the towel, she lets out a loud piercing scream. Her scream fills the bathroom, sounding amplified almost and almost causes my ears to bleed.

What now...?

Herah then rushes out of the bathroom, running past me as I hold my palms over my ears, at her screaming.

Jesus...

"What is it?!" I ask, smiling and trying hard not to laugh at her sudden act of terror as she hops up onto the bed.

"It's a... What is that thing?!" Herah asks in another scream while continuing to freak out.

"Where is it?" I ask.

She points to the bathroom, huffing, out of breath.

"I walk in and look around, only to see a bright green insect sitting against the wall, who I immediately identify as a small praying mantis.

Why is she afraid of it, they're harmless? They don't even bite! Well, not that I know of, and they're even kinda cute. Poor guy... She must've scared the mantis more!

"It's just a praying mantis..." I call out to Herah who suddenly rushes to the bathroom with a can of bug spray in her hand, ready to fume us both up, including herself.

"Wait, wait, wait," I tell her taking the can from her slowly, while laughing.

"Kill it, Jah!" She yells in my ear.

God...

"Can you please stop screaming? It's just a praying mantis, they're practically harmless." I say, approaching it to get a closer look at the bright green creature.

Now, unarmed, Herah runs away from the bathroom and I assume back out the door, making me laugh.

I didn't know she was afraid of bugs. At some point, I thought her to be the toughest woman I know, right after my mom, that is.
