Getting it together, I hunch over, trying to catch my breath before I reach for the door handle and open it. Feeling my panic attack subside, I then stand up straight. I twist the door handle and open the door, not believing what my eyes see in front of me... Britni sits in a kitchen chair, laying her head in her arms, resting on the table.

What the-

Probably not what I think...

I grab the keys, spotting them sitting right above her head and lock the door. I then tip toe past her, trying not to wake her up just yet. I place the keys back in its place on the wall, hearing groaning coming from the room I'd just left.

"Herah...? That you?"

It's Britni!

I walk back into the kitchen and see her awake, rubbing her eyes.

"Uh- Yeah... It's me." I say, crouching down beside her as she squints her eyes at me.

"Why're you-" I begin to ask, wondering why she was sleeping here, but can't as she jumps onto me.

"UH!" I yell, falling down as I fail to hold both of us up.

Why's she so...mad?

I stop trying to pull her off of me after hearing a sob.

"Brit-"

"Where were you?? Why'd you just leave like that?!" Britni shocks me completely with her scold.

Hearing another sob from her as she refuses to let me go, I look down only seeing the top of her head as her face is pressed against my shoulder. A short moment passes and she then slowly lets me go. Seeming to realise what she had done, Britni then sits on her knees before me and clears her throat. I try to act normal, wiping the look of surprise off my face.

Britni...

She stands up and I follow.

"I... I was worried." She says, causing my face to heat up.

I think of what and why she is saying this... Of where I had just come from...

"Don't just sneak out... OK?" She says, her usual cold demeanor revived.

I smirk.

"S-Sorry." I struggle to say something.

Britni then nods, turning around and walks out of the kitchen. I rush after her, catching up as she stops midway.

"Where'd you go, anyway?" She asks and I look down.

I... I can't tell her.

"Uh..." She stands there, waiting for an answer.

She can't be serious.

"The store. The convenience store, down the road." I lie, lifting the bag that I got from Craig.

Convenient, indeed.

She slowly nods, buying it. I smile.
