I study my features in the mirror.

The blue colour in my hair is pretty visible, I think that it's the first thing you'd notice if you'd look at me...

I place my hand behind my head and touch the ends of my hair, untangling it slowly. I start from the back, undoing one of the two rows, moving to the front.

Maybe I should rock this hairstyle,

Look, everyone! Same hairstyle, but... boom! Half braided and half...not.

My closed-lipped laugh echoes throughout the bathroom, granting me a free pass, straight out of my head.

I then undo the left row of my hair as well. I shake my head back and forth, completely loosening my dreads. I spot the faded parts of my hair. I look through the medicine cabinet for some of the purple hair dye to retouch them. I find some and notice that it will not suffice. I sigh, then grab my keys, a hair tie and my bag, heading outside to my car.

I tie my hair up, arriving at the nearest local store. I am wearing my black merch hoodie, spiky choker necklace and my Gucci track pants with it.

I'd wear what makes me comfortable rather than bust my a$$ trynna keep up with the latest fashion trends for others' pleasure. You can never please people in this world so it'd be a dumb waste of my time and energy... I'd rather dress like I'm my own personal cartoon character! That's closer to being iconic to me.

I practically run to the hair stuff aisle in search for the purple hair dye, not really in the mood to be spoken to by anyone.

Maybe, since everyone thinks my hair is blue, I should just go with sky blue? Maybe I should do both, purple and blue, or go back to the half-and-half style?

I grab four boxes of dye, both blue and purple.

I'll decide at home.

I grab both and make my way over to the till.

It is late and not a lot of people are in here. Thank God...

I stand behind an older white guy in the queue, who looks back at me like I'm crazy, meanwhile, he is the one out here in mandals at night. Scratching my head, I pay him no mind. The man in front of me scans his diet Coke, lighter, and a stuffed animal.

He probably has a kid...

As he reaches for his wallet, I decide to confront him by stopping him in his act.

"It's cool, don't worry... I'll pay for you," I say, scanning my card and then placing the hair dye boxes down.

He looks at me as if I am even crazier after I do this, then finally cracks a smile.

"Oh!" He exclaims with joy.

I smile.

"You just made my night, thank you." He says, watching me scan and pay for my items as well.

"No worries. Have a blessed one." I say to him.

"You gonna dye your hair?" He asks holding the conversation.
