26: i love you

I watch Jah slowly close the door behind us and give me one more glance before smiling back at me and dropping his mask which covers his face once again.

Letting out a breath through my nose, I prepare to get going, following Jah.

As we walk, I feel him reaching for my hand and grab it. This shocks me at first but then, I smile at him once again. We begin walking, going in, further behind the facility together. Amidst the silence, I give Jah's modified Uzi a quick glance over, feeding the curiosity of my busy mind.

It's definitely the same gun that Kin carried... except, Jah's seems to have a lot more extension or extra parts. It also seems bigger-

"You straight?" Jah asks me randomly, catching me off guard and I nod.

"Yes!" I say.

"You?"

"I'm good." He answers my dumb-sounding question, giving my hand a squeeze and making my heart beat speed up.

I smile at him focusing back on the gravel in front of me.

Should he be holding my hand right now...? I mean, I'd love nothing more but what if we're confronted by another person of the enemy? What if he can't get to his gun in time?! There's nothing I can even do to one of them, one-on-one!

"Boss...!"

I hear, finally looking up and seeing almost all of the guys standing together in the near distance. I notice them all staring and for some reason I begin to panic.

Our hands! That's probably why they're staring like that!

I quickly try and remove mine from Jah's, snapping my head at him as he refuses to let me go.

Wha-

"Didn't expect them all to already be at the rendezvous point!" Jah turns around and tells me, ignoring what had just happened.

He smiles at me.

"Uh- oh?"

"Yeah, not all of em though." Jah says as we finally reach them.

This is so awkward...

Kin and everyone else all stares at us like Jah and I, or mostly I, am committing a crime against them.

And it sure does feel that way.

I keep my head down, unable to meet anyone's gaze until I feel Jah, finally let my hand free. A bitter mixture of both pain and relief flood over me after he does. I watch in awe as Jah greets everyone and the feeling of love takes over my mind, heart and soul.

"You good, boss?" Almost all of them ask Jah.

They're all...really concerned about him! I- I can feel it!

I look back down again, this time trying to hide my smile from them until I hear my name being called.

"Herah?"

Of course it's now!

I lift my head while wiping the corner of my eye.
