Revenge of the scarlet eyes

A long awaited mission

It's been a couple of days since I had that kiss with Kakashi.. he was sent on yet another mission, I keep thinking back to that moment we kissed. What does this all mean...I really wanted to talk about it, but every time I think about it I get super nervous. Sakura was the one who came over that night, she was feeling a little under the weather with team 7 being scattered and all. We hung out and she slept over, I was glad we were able to bond more.

I was headed to the Hokage building, I was told lady Tsunade wanted to see me. I stood infront of her door, taking in a deep breath before i knocked.
"Come in!" She yelled though the door.
I entered seeing Kakashi and Sakura standing there.
"Good Makota you're finally here."
"Sorry for being late lady Hakage." I walked up next to Sakura and bowed.

"This mission I'm sending you three on is...well quite important. In the land of wind there is a city called York new, near the edge of the village hidden in the sand. It's known for its shops and auctions, where they sell the rarest and most valuable items. They are having a huge auction this coming week and asked if we could spare a few ninja to protect the merchandise and keep.. bandits away from the auction house."
She looked at me like she was reading my mind.
"They have word that the phantom troupe might just make a show to this auction." She added.

My heart was pounding, this is what I was waiting for. My shocked expression turned to eagerness.
"When do we leave?" I asked.
"I knew you would be eager to go. Makota, I'm asking you to go because I know what your goal is, but don't let revenge cloud your judgement. That is also why I'm sending you with your team. I feel they would be good support. I know if Naruto was here he would also be as well. Anyways you'll leave tomorrow, get everything you need ready and expect to be gone for a couple weeks."
"Understood." Kakashi said stepping forward and retrieving the mission scroll.
"With that said you're dismissed...Makota, be careful."
I bowed and headed out after the others.

"Oh my goodness Makota! It could really happen what are you going to do if you face them!" Sakura started shouting.
"Sakura...when...I see them, I'll make sure I avenge my clan at any cost. That is what I have to do, even if it kills me."
She gasped as I walked off, leaving her behind.

I felt a little bad for snapping at her, but knowing that I might see the spiders soon had me on edge. Once I gotten home I started packing everything I thought I would need, scrolls, extra kunai and shuriken. I went into the bathroom to pack my toiletry, I stared at myself in the mirror thinking about all the possibilities while facing the troupe. Am I ready..? A knocking on my front door pulled me from my thoughts. I left the bathroom heading to the door and answering it, to my surprise it was Kakashi.

"I need to talk to you about this mission we are going on." His face held worry.
"Yeah, come in"
He walked past me and sat down on my couch, I sat down next to him.
"Our main goal is to protect the mafia bosses and the items inside the auction house. If the troupe is to show.. promise me you will keep our mission first."
"Kakashi... I know we put the mission first but-"
"No Makota...promise me." He demanded.
"That's a little unfair.."
"What's unfair is you risking your life. You think you can defeat the spiders all by yourself, when they took down your entire clan! You would kill yourself before ever finishing your goal!" His voice grew louder with every word.
I stood up my jaw clinching, my hands curled into a fist.
"Death has never been a issue to me. I will take them down if it's the last thing I do." I snapped.

He stood, towering over me his face held anger then slowly changed to hurt.
"You said you wouldn't leave..." He whispered.
My mouth fell open then I quickly closed it, I closed my eyes releasing all my anger with a deep breath.
"Kakashi.... even if I died... I wouldn't leave you, not in here at least." I placed my hand over his heart, he placed his hand over mine holding it gently.
