"Depending on how quickly we can locate the oil rig Valeria said the missile was at, we either leave late tomorrow or early the following day." Alejandro admitted.
"So we're waiting here for now?"
Alejandro smiled, "Absolutely hermana. But you lot are lucky, we are giving you a room to sleep in."
Ghost watched as Cat groaned and put her head on the table. It had been several hours since Valeria took the deal with Graves to give them the coordinates of the missile. Ghost was amused by Cat, her reactions to simple things, like Alejandro and his men giving them shelter for the night were... interesting. Not to mention how she tries to act like a hard ass, she acts mean infront of people she doesn't like but when she's around people she trusts or likes a little, she's much nicer. How Cat has been acting has been a stark contrast to when Ghost first met her. Who would have thought someone would have to warm up to Ghost? He wouldn't have guessed it, not after his first meeting with the task force members.
Ghost snapped back to reality once everyone was laughing at Cat, something about her having a typical American country accent when she said something in Spanish.
"I don't see why the scott is laughing. You don't even know Spanish."
Soap scoffed, "How are you so confident about that, hermana?"
"Ok, un burro sabe mas que tu, pendejo." (Meaning: a donkey knows more than you, asshole.)
Alejandro at this point was laughing hard enough he was weezing, Ghost didn't know too much spanish just enough to know that Cat said called Soap either a motherfucker and a donkey.
"I know what you said, just uh for Ghost can you tell us what you said?"
"Oh, entonces el fantasma no sabe lo que dije? Ok." (Meaning: oh so ghost does not know what i said? ok.)
"What? Alejandro what'd she say?"
Ghost watched as Cat moved next to him, "Do you want to know what I said or do you know Spanish, big guy?"
"I know you said something in regards to a donkey and asshole. Soap is right, you do sound extremely American when you speak Spanish."
"Why don't you say something in Spanish then, big guy."
"That's different, I don't know Spanish."
Cat rolled her eyes and scoffed, "Well, if thats the case, the you and the scott best start learning. Hope you can catch on quick."
"Are you going to speak exclusively in Spanish? You do realize that the only person you could talk to then would be Alejandro."
"¿Qué? ¿No quieres que deje de hablarte?" (Meaning: What? You don't want me to stop talking to you?)
Ghost just stared at Cat in response. While, yes, Ghost doesn't know Spanish well enough to have conversations in, but he could tell she was being a smartass. Does he wish he did more than basic Spanish, yes, can he change that, no.
"Oh por favor, du..." Soap trailed off, trying to come up with something to say to Cat.
"Soap, accept defeat. The little American girl obviously knows more than you. You can figure out what she said, I'm not translating. I wouldn't recommend you ask for help either."
"What'd she say Alejandro?"
Alejandro laughed and shook his head, "I'm not telling. I recommend you start learning mi hermano."
Ghost never responded to Cat, if she wants to speak exclusively Spanish to irritate them, him, then fine. But, he found it amusing how Cat spoke in Spanish, she spoke in a softer tone in comparison to how she normally speaks. Ghost found it interesting that Cat spoke Spanish with more emotion than she did in english, she sounded more animated, maybe she was just happy that they didn't know Spanish. Enjoying their suffering.
