Mark and Amy were getting Married he had made Ethan his best man and they had been best friends for a long time, at the reception after Ethan gave his speech and Kathryn gave hers for Amy Mark asked Ethan to sing a song for them all knowing how good he could sing. Ethan seemed hesitant but thought of a good song before walking over to the DJ telling him the song and walking up to the mic closing his eyes as the music started up.

Ethan smiles as everyone claps and cheers for him and only Mark understood why he choose that song but yet it also confused him. Why was he singing this now of all the times he could have sang this song? Did Ethan actually like Mark? If he did what about Amy? He loves them both but not sure if he could chose one over the other. He saw Ethan had walked outside to get some fresh air after singing so he followed him Ethans body was shaking with nerves as he paced back and forth with his eyes closed until he bumped into someone expecting to fall but was caught in someone's arms and he automatically knew who it was as he looked up into the chocolate brown eyes of his best friend blushing in embarrassment "U-um Hey Mark-" he stood up and backed away from him looking out over the balcony at the lights of the city. Mark walked up beside him and looked out over the city as well, it was silent as the two friends stood there looking out at the lights then Mark spoke up "Ethan be honest with me..what was that about? And don't tell me it was nothing because i know it wasn't" he glanced to Ethan who looked like he might cry which made Marks heart break. "You really never noticed have you Mark?.." he shook his head and a tear slipped out of his eyes but he wiped it away hoping Mark didn't notice but he did. "What do you mean notice? Notice what E?" Ethan backed away with tears streaming down his pale face "Your so oblivious Mark! We have been friends for years! Yea I knew you liked Amy and you have been together since we met but have you really never noticed me?! Have you never noticed the chemistry we had together?! I guess I'm just the idiot who fell for my best friend!" He screamed at Mark causing Mark to flinch and step towards Ethan reaching for his hand but Ethan shook his head "Just don't Mark. You have chosen who you want to be with now it's time for me to get over it and get over you." He walked away from Mark leaving him stunned and heartbroken.

Ethan had made his way back inside and no one even gave him a second glance as he grabbed his bag and started to walk to his car, he decided right then and there he was going to leave he didn't know where he was going and yet he didn't really care. He got in his car to drive to his house to get some things packing it into his car.

Mark had got to Ethan's house before Ethan left walking up to him taking his hand before he got into his car "Listen Ethan we can work this out...I didn't know but I do know and I can't lose you.." Ethan shook his head starting to tear up "Im not going to be anyone's second choice Mark..I love you and I always will but I'm not going to be anyone's last choice.." he pulled his hand away from Mark and locked his door to his house putting the key in the mail box and walked back to his car "Ethan where are you going? You can't leave your whole life is here!" Ethan shook his head "No Mark it isn't, not anymore. YOU were my life. But YOU chose Amy. I have nothing left here Mark so I'm leaving and as for where I'm going I don't know or care at this point but I'm not staying here to be someone's last resort." He got in his car and slammed the door backing out of the driveway and driving off into the distance leaving a stunned Mark.
