Chapter Four || Lyla
A small smile crept upon my face mimicking the brown eyed brunettes' goofy grin plastered across his face. His eyes bore into mine while he tilts his head to the side, slowly leaning in closer to my own.
My breath hitches while my heart begins to pound harshly against its cage. I can smell his scent of ocean and sand with the closeness of his body to mine. His nose touches the tip of my own, slightly brushing back and forth.
I sighed in content while my eyes batted shut, embracing what was about to come next.
"HAZEL!!" He pulls away quickly, his eyes searching mine in question. "Don't" I mumble stepping closer to him. "HAZEL!" He shakes his head and turns around, walking in the opposite direction. "Jack, wait!" I yell, trailing behind him. "HAZEL STOP IT, GET OVER HERE!" He looks over his shoulder then turns back around, continuing on his path. I stop in place and frown, watching his back as he becomes smaller and smaller the farther he gets.
"HAZEL COME ON!"
A groan echoes in my bedroom while I turn over from my back onto my stomach, burying my face in my sheets underneath my pillow. "Shut up!" I yell, my voice muffled by the cloth material.
I refuse to fully open my eyes, hoping that I will be able to fall back asleep and land in the dream where I was about the Black Pearl, inches away from connecting lips with Jack Sparrow. "HAZEL, DAMNIT" the voice yells again for the fifth time, followed by a loud crash.
Whining I lift my head from underneath my pillow and open my eyes, squinting as I adjust to the brightness. The clock reads eight thirty and I drop my face onto the pillow groaning into the material before pushing myself up on my palms.
Sighing I swing my duvet and sheets off my body and sloppily get out of bed, stomping towards my window on the opposite side, mumbling profanities underneath my breath.
Unlocking the latch, I push the window open.
"Are you kidding me?!" I yell sticking my head out my bedroom window, scanning across the side lawn for the cause of noise. I hear another crash followed by a bark and look down from my window, frowning when I see our white fence boarding our house and our neighbors knocked over.
The yellow lab tilts its head and notices my arrival, barking at my window. My hands find my temples and begin rubbing is slow circles, soothing my skin. "It's too early for this," I mumble closing my eyes.
"Hazel, come here!" a harsh voice rises, signaling how close the owner of the voice is.
I open my eyes and frown, noticing the culprit for waking me up running across his side lawn towards the fence. His hair is tucked into a backwards cap while pieces of bleached pale hair are sticking out messily in the front. My eyes trail down to his eyes then the piercing on his nose, stopping once I noticed his attire of a dark navy sweatshirt with black jeans ripped at the knee.
I'm sure I would find him attractive, however, due to his voice prying me away from the Black Pearl and into reality, I was irritated and didn't care about his looks.
"Fucking Hazel," he mutters catching up to the yellow lab which I assume is Hazel. His hand grips Hazel's collar, stopping her attempt to flee the scene. Hazel continues to bark and he shushes her, noticing her attention upon my window.
He looks up and my window, finally taking notice of my appearance. "Did you need something?" he asks.
"Sleep, would be nice, actually," I reply with scoff. He nods his head and smiles, "well nobody is stopping you."
