A U T H O R S N O T E : Hi everyone ! ♥ I'm so sorry that it has taken me ages to update! I had finals this week and for the last few weeks I've been studying like crazy and had no time to write. Finals are now over and I'm happy to say I've aced each one! Thank you so much for your patience and understanding why I wasn't writing few the last few weeks. I'm so excited and happy I can finally sit and write, I've been so eager to finish my studies because throughout the few weeks all I thought about was this story. I wanted to update early last night/ early morning, however, I'm so glad I didn't because once I went back and read the chapter, there were soooo many errors from my lack of sleep and attempt of an all nighter. Lol, so without further ado, here is Chapter Six :-) Enjoy & happy reading! ♥♥ x

Chapter Six || Lyla
"Cook out my ass," I mumble squeezing in between two bodies lingering with beer bottles in their hands in the middle of the hallway. For what was said to be a cook out, according to Addison, appeared to be the opposite; unless the two boys next door's idea of a cook out differed from mine, which it definitely did.
Normally when my brother and I would have cook outs with our dad, we would invite our close friends and family, keeping the cook out capacity to a minimum. We'd eat burgers and hot dogs and talk amongst ourselves while the radio filled the gasps of silence. Overall, our cook outs were relaxing and pleasant.
If Addison didn't tell me this was going to be a cook out, I would have easily mistaken this as a party. When we first walked in there were about fifteen to twenty people lingering throughout the house and backyard with alcoholic beverages in hand; and the music was loud enough to the point where if you leaned against the wall you could feel the vibrations from the base thumping in the speakers.
Within the few minutes of arriving and following Kian and JC into the kitchen, others arrived and made themselves at home, helping themselves to mixed drinks and crowding throughout the house.
As I headed in the direction JC pointed me in, the music began to grow louder and I thanked my lucky stars Addy gave me her bottle of Midol to use as I pleased. Usually I would take three tablets to numb my stomach from my aches and cramps; and if it wasn't for the fact I swallowed down six pink pills I'm pretty sure my head would be throbbing from the base rather than feeling fuzzy.
And Addison thought I was kidding about taking enough pills to get high and pass time at this cook-out.
Playing with the tips of my hair in my braid I force a smile and mumble an 'excuse me', pushing my way through a small group of people blocking the middle of the hall. "Bingo," I say noticing the white door with the silver knob and raise my hand to knock.
"Someone is very much in there," a voice says from beside me. I glance at the owner of the voice and notice his all black attire with black ray bans perched on his nose, blocking his eyes. I wonder if he realizes the sun set minutes ago and there's no need for shades; but once he wobbly steps closer to me and I inhale the scent of cologne mixed with booze I realize he's hiding from the shining lights, already intoxicated.
I sigh and bang my fist on the door anyways. "Someone's determined," he chuckles and knocks back the rest of his drink then places his now empty beer bottle on the hall table. I frown and lean back against the wall across from the bathroom door, eyeing the wooden frame as if my glare could burn through the wood.
All I wanted was to step into the bathroom and get away from everyone without being noticed as the unfamiliar face yet here I was stuck in the hallway besides someone who was on his way to being passed out on the floor. At least he's the type to know the meaning of space bubble rather than imposing on someone's personal space.
