Rido's POV

I smiled at how strong Kimi was becoming, from the past five months and two years, the girl is be coming a strong woman. She may only be fourteen years old but she's getting along nicely and I really am looking forward to our marriage. She was outside in the courtyard training, she was so beautiful. Kimi was strong and beautiful, I'm glad I chose her as my soon-to-be wife. Kimi clearly spotted me and grinned. "Rido!" She called, her voice echoing. "How am I doing?"

"You're doing fine!" I called back.

I stared at her as she carried on with her training. Her hair was always plaited, her black hair fell to her ankles when it was down but either way she was still attractive. Her brown highlights shone in the setting sunlight which was also illuminating her face. The cherry blossoms flew near her as she practiced, the scene was perfect.

Kimi finally finished and she rushed over to me. She stood so her body was almost touching mine, she was small, about 5"5. "What did you think?" She said, panting.

"Amazing," I kissed her forehead. "You know I love you, Kimi."

"I love you too, Rido." She skipped happily inside. Just watching her made me excited for the day she was old enough to marry me, and she wouldn't fight back.

Kimi's POV

I skipped happily past Rido, an amazing day. I love Rido, he always compliments me and has been so nice to me so in return, I agreed to marry him. I do love him, after all, he did save me from those two evil vampires who wanted to kill me.

I can still remember than horrible night, that girl that tried to make sure I wouldn't be taken to safety and that boy who wanted to drink me dry. They were both horrible, scary and ugly. I couldn't get their bloodthirsty faces out of my mind. The thought of them made me shiver, i'm so glad Rido saved me that night.

I walked up the stairs and passed the closet but as I did someone firmly grabbed my arm. I was just about to scream when the same person covered my mouth and dragged me into the closet. I wiggled and kicked and tried everything I could to break free but this person was to strong so I eventually gave up. I opened my eyes and felt warm breath on my neck. "Lady Kimi, please, listen," I instantly recognized the voice. It was Ren the human servant of Rido. He spared her after he killed her family and he had killed her family as he felt he was strong and deserved to live, she had no choice anyway. "I'm going to give you you're memories back."

I was confused at her statement but at the same time worried. What if the past I didn't remember was horrible? What if I didn't want to know my past? "B-but you're a human, you can't do that! Only vampires can," I hissed as I didn't want her to get caught and killed. Ren was older than me by three years making her seventeen, I felt her long black hair tickle my neck, it sent a weird feeling down my spine, she moved closer as if what she was about to tell me was something extremely private.

"I am a vampire..." she sighed sadly. "...But I'm falling to a level E..."

I gasped at her previous statement. I never knew Ren was a level E. Rido had told me she was a human who wanted to serve him so he spared his life. I suddenly felt a hand being pressed against my forehead, it was Ren's. "R-Ren..." I was startled, I felt my mind being filled. Gaps that were once locked away in my brain that I was unable to reach began to fill and I remembered. I remembered my family, and Ayame. The girl I thought who wanted to kill me was my friend. I remembered Kaname, the love of my life who was also my brother. I cried silently, curling up to Ren as she rubbed my back, trying to comfort me. How could I ever think Kaname wanted to drink me dry? I hated myself for it and I hated Rido for brainwashing me into thinking it. How dare he. How. Dare. He.

I remember him hitting Ayame across the back and slamming her into the wall, I hope she's okay, I hope she lived through that, I don't want Kaname to be alone. "Shh," Ren hushed. "Calm down, please. We don't want Rido to hear us or anyone else."

I stopped whimpering after a while and felt Ren sigh on my neck. "I need to get back to Kaname. I can't believe it's been two years..."

There was a long silence between us and all that was heard was the muffled noises coming from downstairs. "I'll help you escape." Ren suddenly said.

"What?" I heard her but I didn't think she could do such a thing. A

vampire who is slowly falling to level E versus a pureblood, it's pretty clear who's going to win.

I heard Ren groan, she sounded impatient. "I said, I'm going to help you escape."

I nodded but thought about the way she emphasised 'you'. Did she mean she was going to risk her life just for me?

"Ren, if I'm escaping you must come with me. I won't let you suffer here any longer." I said firmly but quietly.

"But-"

I immediately cut her off. "No. No answering back, I won't take no for an answer. It's either you come with me and we both escape or we can both be trapped here forever, I'm not going anywhere without you, Ren." It was all true. Ren has been my best friend ever since I was let out of the room. Ren has always comforted me, helped me, served meals for me, talked to me, she's always been there for me and I knew that leaving her behind wasn't a way to repay her for everything.

Finally Ren let out a long sigh. "Fine," relief washed over me. I was so happy she finally agreed. "Now all we need to do is think of a plan..."
