Chapter 17

Ayame's POV

I sat next to Hanabusa during class tonight as it seemed that Kaname was still angry with me. "Ayame,"
I turned toward the source of the voice, it was Kaname. Kaname looked sad. "Yes?"
He hesitated for a moment. "I'm sorry for behaving quite childish today...will you forgive me?"
I smiled. "Of course. You are my best friend after all."
Kaname smiled back and from the corner of my eye I could see Kimi although she wasn't smiling. Instead she was looking sadly in the direction of the other new girl who, from what I have heard, was called Ren. Ren was seated at the back with Rima and Senri who were all happily chatting away. I turned my focus on the lesson, although I felt a familiar presence throughout.
After class had ended, I walked alongside Kaname, Hanabusa and Kimi. "Kaname, can you sense a presence at all?"
He nodded as we stepped outside. "Yes...and I think both you and I know who this presence belongs to."
We stopped a few metres from the fountain where a girl in a white cloak stood. I looked to see the broach that held the top of her cloak in place, from that I knew exactly who she was. "Hello...sister."
She looked up and her hood slipped off her head revealing her face and hair. "Hello." She replied with a shy smile.
I was so happy to see her, she was my twin however we were not identical in any way. We walked toward each other, revealing our height difference; My sister was smaller than me by a few inches. When we were standing only inches apart I threw my arms around her and hugged her tightly, she did the same. "Wait...you two are sisters?!" Hanabusa said from behind, clearly confused.
"Yes." I said after pulling away from the hug.
"But you look nothing alike!"
My sister and I exchanged glances and she giggled. "If you compared us to our eldest sister then you could pick out some similarities. "
"It's nice to see you again, Skye-sama." Kaname bowed in respect, as did Kimi.
"And it is a pleasure to see your friendly faces, too, Kaname-sama and Kimi-chan." Skye bowed to show respect, too.
Hanabusa still seemed confused, though. "Hanabusa what's wrong?" I asked.
"Hm...as we are on the subject of family...you never mentioned your family name."
"Well...it's Hio."
Hanabusa stared at us with wide eyes. Whenever our surname was mentioned many people always related it to our older sister who disappeared after a murder of a human family...that she comitted.
We stood in silence, quite awkwardly. "What?"
This voice did not belong to Hanabusa or Kaname, though. It was Zero. "Zero?"
The boy glared at me and then Skye. "I should've known...from what I learned about your family, I should have known." He pulled out his gun, the Bloody Rose.
"Now Zero, there is no need to point a gun at them." Kaname said calmly.
Still Zero gripped the gun and still aimed at Skye and I. He stared coldly at us as if we did something wrong but, he pulled the trigger.
