Chapter 14

Ren's POV

I watched Kimi as she skipped happily into the large building, I was alone. I felt hurt and in a way, angry, that she was so eager to leave me after all I had done for her...but I guess that's what 'true love' does to you. I sighed and took in my surroundings, there was hardly anyone hanging around. I turned back towards the way we came, I wanted to call for Zero. I wanted to ask him what I could do but there was a massive metal gate blocking my path. I sighed once more. "Are you kidding..." I said under my breath.

I slumped against the cold metal and folded my arms. I guess this beats being stuck in Rido's castle, obeying his every word. I was finally free so I shouldn't be so whiny. I noticed a girl and a boy approaching me from the corner of my eye; I pretended I didn't notice them. "Hey," they both said in unison.

I looked up at them and nodded. "Oh, hi."

"You must be new here, I haven't seen your face here before." The girl didn't even smile as she said this.

"No, I'm Ren." I decided to make a Joke, to break the ice. Clearly it didn't work because neither of them even smiled.

"Uh, okay then Ren. I'm Rima Toya and this is Senri Shiki."

I furrowed my eyebrows. I knew Senri but I didn't know from where... "Are you okay there?" Shiki had snapped me out of my thoughts.

Just then it hit me, Senri is Rido's son. "Senri?" I gasped.

He raised his eyebrows and had a look on his face which was a mix between surprised and confused. "Yes?"

Shiki clearly didn't remember and I wasn't in the mood to start explaining who I was. "Never mind."

The two exchanged glances and shrugged. "Well you aren't going to get anywhere in this school just sitting there. Follow us, we'll show you around." Senri extended his hand out and I took it.

He pulled me up and the two began walking so I followed, they were walking into the school.

We walked through the entrance and in the front room there were two crimson red sofas, they looked quite posh. We passed them and went up the stairs. "This is where our dorm rooms are..." Rima explained but trailed off and stopped walking, as did Senri.

I stepped out from behind to see what was happening and there, standing in the hallway was Kimi and a boy who had her in an embrace. Something was wrong, though. Kimi was crying. "Kimi!" I yelled causing her to look up. Tears stained her pale cheeks. I turned to face the boy and clenched my fists, he clearly did something to make her cry. "What did you do to her!"

"I did nothing, she is just letting out all the pain she has been holding in for all the time she was gone." The boy said calmly.

"Are you...Kaname?" I remembered Kimi talking about him everyday, it was almost annoying.

"Yes, that's me. You are?"

"I'm Ren. I was the one who helped Kimi escape."

Kaname's expression hardened as if he were remembering a horrible memory. I was confused but only stared back.

All of a sudden I felt a ping in my head. I felt dizzy and my head ached, my brain felt like it was being squeezed. I couldn't see or think straight causing me to fall backwards. "Ren?" I heard Kimi's, almost whispering, voice.

I noticed everything began to go up which meant I was going down, I was falling. Pain flowed through my whole body and I couldn't breath, I had been winded when hitting the floor and my headache became worse. I felt someone pushing me upright I didn't have the strength to look who it was. "Here," a far away voice said. "Open your mouth, Ren and swallow this."

Through all the numbness I still felt something small put in my mouth and used all the strength I regained to swallow the mystery object. I felt the headache going away and I could see things clearly now, I saw Rima in front of me.
