Skye's POV

I swung on the hard, old, wooden swing that hung by an old rope attached to a large branch of the thick oak tree. I was distant from the world around me yet my mind was empty. "Skye-chan?" A sweet and innocent voice called, bringing me back to reality.
"Oh, it's you." I attempted to act casual although I could feel my heart racing in fear.
"Why don't you like me? I know I'm not Ayame but..."
I stood in front of her and towered over the thin child. Anger and fear spread through me, she was the one who drove Ayame away. She was also capable of manipulating people making her a dangerous vampire. "Shut up! Just shut up!" I snapped.
Her innocent face changed into an angered snarl.
"Young sister, I would advise you not to use that tone with me," She turned and walked away, back towards the large, glassy building in which we lived. Suddenly she paused making my heart skip a beat. She turned her head ever so slightly I could hardly see her face. "Because you never know who could get hurt."

I woke up, it was still dark. The clock on the bedside table ticked; it read '12:54' which most likely meant the in the morning. I looked over the bed to see Ayame in an unusual sleeping position. Her arm was above her head and her leg stuck out from the duvet. She snored quietly.
I lay my head back down on the comfy pillow and looked up at the dark ceiling, remembering my 'dream'. I knew it happened, though...I remember the conversation quite well. The thought of it made me uncomfortable, her sudden change in personality nowadays is weird.
Creak Creak Creak. I turned my attention to the muffled creaking sounds from the other side of the door. Creak Creak. The noises got louder each time as it seemed the source of the noise was drawing nearer and nearer to the room. Creak Creak Creak. The noise had finally stopped...right outside our dorm room. I remembered Ayame unlocking the door but I never saw nor heard her lock it.
I watched the golden handle as it turned slowly; It came to a halt and slowly and silently opened. I squinted my eyes to enhance my vision in the dark room and to focus on the person or possibly vampire who was about to enter the room. Soon, a white patterned uniform sleeve came into vision which gave me less of a range of people to think of...a bit. I didn't know anyone but Ayame, Kimi, Kaname and Hanabusa so my only guess was that this person was a vampire.

The door came to halt, about three quarters open revealing only a small chunk of darkness on the other side. A head popped around the corner of the door, the hair a sandy blonde and the face was quite easy to recognize, even in the darkness. "Hanabusa-san? What are you doing?" I hissed causing him to jump.

He stared at me for a few moments as if he was trying to think of an excuse. Hanabusa rubbed the back of his neck, refusing to make eye contact with me. Turning to me with an embarrassed smile, he blushed slightly and then replied. "Um...well I just came to check on Ayame," he seemingly finished but seemed guilty when he turned to face me once again. "And you of course."

There was silence between us for a few moments; I sat awkwardly on the bed, my eyes darting around unsure what to look at. I noticed the door beginning to close. "H-Hanabusa,"

The blonde haired boy leaned forward so I could at least see his face. "Hm?"

I looked down at my not-so-sleeping-beauty sister, she was sprawled across the floor like a deformed spider-thing. I looked back over to the waiting Hanabusa. "So...what sort of relationship do you have with my sister?"
Once again the boy blushed. "Well...I guess she's my lover now."
The word 'lover' ecoed through my head. Ayame would've told me if she had a lover, especially if it were her childhood crush. So why didn't she? "I need to go now, Skye-sama. It was nice meeting you." Hanabusa shut the door which made a securing click sound.
I sighed and lay back down in bed. I thought about the short conversation between Hanabusa and I. I remembered Ayame describe him every time she came home, she was always so excited and her face was pink from blushing. I saw him in a photograph one day and I do admit I developed a small crush on him for a while but never told my sister as I didn't want to hurt her feelings.
I rolled onto my right and looked down at the awkwardly positioned Ayame before laying flat on my back once again, causing the bed sheets to shuffle as I did so. Staring at the ceiling, I chuckled to myself. I never understood how she could end up in those poses, it made me wonder what sort of dreams she had. I smiled then turned on my left side, facing the blank and colourless wall. Fluttering my sleepy eyes, I eventually drifted back to sleep...back into the world of dreams and darkness.
