The next day, everything was back to normal and Hanabusa was as flirtatious as usual. The day went by without anything unusual happening, I sat reading a book for an hour or so, talked to Takuma, Kaname and the some of the others, ate and got ready for the switch over.

After class, Hanabusa, Rima, Ruka, Akatski and Senri all went off together outside, I was curious and silently followed behind, I kept my distance as I didn't want to be seen. The group went outside and I saw Zero was there, they approached him. I hid behind a nearby tree and observed what they were about to do.

I heard Zero sigh. "Hello night class, what do you all want?"

"You know, you're a little Cocky, Zero." I heard Hanabusa say.

"You're just a human." Ruka said.

"Are we really doing this?" Rima asked.

"Yeah, but Takuma said to leave it alone." Senri replied.

"He's right. Hanabusa, Ruka, if Lord Kaname finds out then he will tear you apart. Lady Ayame, I'm not entirely sure what she would do." Akatski attempted to reason with the others.

Ruka scoffed. "Lady Ayame, she would probably lecture us on how to be nice to people."

"Shut up, Ruka. Ayame-sama isn't like that." Hanabusa retaliated.

I could now see that Zero was gripping the gun that he had, he wasn't pointing it at anyone though. "Zero, come on, put the gun down" Akatski once again attempted to reason but this time with Zero.

Akatski put his hands out as if to calm Zero down, make him less tense. Suddenly, Zero grabbed Akatski by the wrist and flipped him over, slamming him into the ground. I let out a small gasp. Why would he do that? Akatski was only being nice an this is what Zero does? I furrowed my eyebrows. "So not cool." I heard Rima and Senri say in unison.

"Shut up." Akatski was clearly in some sort of pain as he groaned the two words.

"Hm, interesting. Come on vampires, I'm in a bad mood anyway." Zero said mockingly.

"See, it's that kind of attitude that makes people think you're cocky." Hanabusa growled. He then began to cover the floor with a thin sheet of ice beneath them.

Just then, Akatski got up, he sighed. "I did my best to play the good guy I'm not to blame for what's next,"

He formed fire in the air, which then sets the tree I'm under alight. I panic and run to the group who turn their heads to the flaming tree and me.

"Ayame?" Hanabusa looked worried.

I stopped at the sound of a gun click. I focused on Zero who was now pointing a gun at me. "Zero, I haven't done anything. There is no reason for you to point a gun at me."

Zero glared at me even after my attempt to reason with him. He kept the gun aimed at my head, the others stared in shock, obviously they didn't want to move or else someone would get hurt, but, suddenly, Yuki appeared. "Zero, stop!"

I let go of my breath that I didn't realise I was holding. I then turned towards the tree, that was no longer on fire. "What?" I heard Zero question.

Yuki then turned to us. "You guys need to get back to class,"

She ushered us away. We began walking, I saw Ruka staring awkwardly at the ground, Rima and Senri were talking, Akatski was walking silently and Hanabusa was walking beside me. I could hear Yuki lecturing Zero in the distance. Thinking about the word 'lecture' made me think of Ruka's last remark about me, it slightly upset me that she thought about me like that but I knew I shouldn't care. "Ayame, are you alright?" Hanabusa's voice was sudden but full of concern.

I nodded but didn't make eye contact, instead I remained staring at the ground. "I'm fine."

"Lady Ayame, Were you following us?" Ruka spoke up from behind.

I turned to face her and was walking backwards. "Maybe I was, maybe I wasn't."

I turned back the other way yet I could still feel Ruka staring at me. "That was dangerous, Lady Ayame."

I turned to see Akatski looking directly at me. "What was?"

Hanabusa sighed. "The burning tree, idiot. And Zero could have shot you, that's what was dangerous." I spun around and looked at Hanabusa who wasn't looking at me, but was looking at the ground like I was before. He shook his head. "Sometimes I wonder if you're not fully retarded."

I glared at him. "I would have been fine with the burning tree!"

He then lifted his head up and looked at me in the eyes. "So? What would you do if Zero shot you?"

I smirked, jokingly of course. "I would've dodged, duh."

Clearly Hanabusa didn't see it as a laughing matter because he didn't show a single hint of even a smile. "You could've died, Ayame! Then what would Lord Kaname do to us? He would have killed us or something nearly as bad as that, or worse."

He mumbled something else under his breath that I wasn't able to make out. From then on, no one said a word.

Kimi's POV

Ever since Ren gave me my memories back, we've secretly been planning a way out. I suggested to Rido that Ren should be my tutor as I need to become a smart 'wife'. Thankfully he was convinced which made our planning easier. I let Ren have some of my blood from time to time, seeing as she was slowly turning into a level E she was really coping. "Okay, so you know your birthday is coming up on Saturday, right?"

I nodded. "Right."

"Well," she lowered her voice and leaned forward, in case someone was listening from the other side of the door. "Maybe we can escape then."

Excitement was building up. "So, how are we going to do that?"

"I was thinking I would be waiting at the entrance greeting people for the party, then you can sneak away from the hall and meet me at the entrance and when you do, we can make a run for it."

I thought for a moment. "But what if Rido doesn't throw a party for me?"

Ren scoffed and shook her head. "You can be real stupid sometimes, Lady Kimi. Of course Rido would throw a party for you, except he'll do it his way. Rido'll invite the guests he wants, choose the food, y'know, the stuff you would normally choose."

I smiled, if this works then I would be able to see Kaname again and Ren would come with me and not rot in this awful place.

"Ren,"

"Mm?"

I waited a few seconds. "Where will we go? Do you know how to get back to our house?"

To my delight she nodded. However her expression seemed guilty and sad. "You may not recall, but I was there when Rido kidnapped you..."

I felt like my heart had stopped beating. "W-what?"

"I'm sorry, Kimi. I wasn't allowed to do anything and I'm not any match for Rido." She was looking down, I had nothing to say. I was lost for words. "I wanted to help you and helping you escape was the best I could think of."

I hugged her and began to cry, I was angry, sad and happy all at the same time. I didn't know which emotion I was crying for. Ren said nothing but wrapped her arms around me, too.
