Chapter 11

Ren's POV

It was only a few hours until Kimi's fifteenth birthday party and I was out doing some late shopping in the town. I was just approaching a fruit stall when I saw two people there it shocked me. It was Kaname and Ayame, the two purebloods who tried to protect Kimi that day. They were both wearing white uniforms indicating they were from the Cross academy night class. If they were here it meant that we shouldn't be fleeing to their home but to the academy.

Kimi's POV

Saturday, the night of my party, the night of our escape. I was preparing myself, at least looking presentable. I heard a knock on my door, it was Ren. "Lady Kimi, Sakura told me to give your dress to you and I'm sure you'll love it."

She walked in, shutting the door behind her. Ren grinned and held the dress up in front of me, I stared in awe. It was absolutely amazing, Sakura had added a white belt with a large ribbon at the back and the sleeves were short and puffed, the rims of them were also white, as was the collar of the dress. "Wow..." was all I managed to say.

"Oh, and she told me to give you these." Ren held up a pair of black flats with a white ribbon at the top of each of the shoes. Ren exited the room and I changed into the nicely fitting dress, the shoes also fit perfectly. I sighed, I wouldn't see Sakura at the party and wouldn't have time to say 'thank you' to her.

I walked out the dreary room for the last time, and slammed the door as hard as I could. It was like a jail to me and I was so happy that it would be the last time I would ever be in there. "Ready?" Ren was leaning against the wall.

I nodded in response. "Let's go."

When I got down stairs, Rido was waiting for me at the bottom. "Ready m'lady?" He arched his arm, waiting for me to link mine with his.

I faked a smile. "Yes."

I linked arms with him as he escorted me further into the ball room.

A while later, I knew it was the time to make our move so I tapped Rido on the shoulder. "Rido, may I go to the toilet?"

I looked up at him innocently, he finally nodded. "Go." I ran out the ball room and down the hallway towards the entrance where Ren was waiting. When she saw me running she started to move forward into a slow jog. Freedom. It was right in front of me. "Where are you're going, my dear?"

My heart was racing, it was Rido. I began to sprint out of the door grabbing Ren's hand. I could hear guards shouting to us from behind but we didn't stop, nor did we look back. I was finally away from that place.

Ren tugged on my arm to the opposite direction I was pretty sure my house was. "Ren," I breathed. "Where are you going?"

"To cross academy." She didn't even look at me.

I was confused. "But why?" My hopes began to fall, she was taking me further away from Kaname.

"Kaname...isn't...at...your...home...he's...at....the academy..." Ren said each word between breathes.

My hopes were back, Kaname was at the academy which meant I would be able to see him. Relief washed over as we came closer and closer to the academy. Finally.

Rido's POV

Kimi grabbed Ren's hand and they both ran off further and further into the darkness. I sighed. "Stop!" I commanded the guards began running after the two girls.

They turned and faced me, obviously confused. "But sir, their getting away!"

"Get back in position, men. Don't chase them, just leave it."

I turned and walked back towards the ball room. "You can't hide from me, Kimi. I'll find you sooner than you think and I will make you suffer."
