The last chapter made me feel all warm and fuzzy. Everyone is asking for a lemon now. (For those who don't know, a Lemon is a heated scene between one of the main characters and someone else.) Well I'll only do a lemon if a majority of the fans are okay with it. I don't want to make everyone uncomfortable. So do me a favor, comment RIGHT NOW, yes or no! Also, sorry for no update yesterday, I had to re-write this when it was deleted.
Chapter Twenty-One: Recap.
"Aww, I feel so special," He said in a masochistic tone as he pulled me closer to him. "How does it feel? Being hunted prey?" he whispered.
I smiled this time. I raised my hand and placed the back of it on his cheek. "I don't know, thought you'd tell me." Shifting my weight, I wrapped my arm around Jeff's neck and threw him into and out the window. Much to my dismay he dragged me out with him.
He struck the ground and soon after was punished with the weight of my body slamming against his own.
"Thanks for the cushion, Jeffrey." I saluted, jumping up and making my way to the forest edge, looking back once to see him doubled over, coughing and throwing up. A feeling of sadness filled my heart while I made my way back to camp. I might hate him, but that doesn't mean I have to be like him to beat him.
I shook my head trying to keep my mind blank and my ears open for anyone following me. A few minutes later I made it to the lake side. Damon could be seen along with a large group of students and teachers. Clary, was no where to be seen. Dread, it hit me hard when I neared Damon with his tear streaked face.
"Where is she? Where's Clary? Where is Clarissa?!" I shook him violently. His amber eyes gleamed with sadness and fear.
"She's- she's gone. They took her. They took Clary." He broke down into tears and hugged me tightly. I couldn't cry, I couldn't feel. I was numb. To all but one thing... rage. So much rage my fists wouldn't unclench themselves. There was no questioning it. I left Clary and everyone else unprotected. I leave for just a moment, I let, Them, in for a second... and I lose them all. But no more.
I was gonna get her back, no matter what it took. It is one thing to hurt me. It was another story if you touched my friends.
Chapter Twenty-Four.
Mercy.
Lightning's P.O.V.
Knife? Check. Pepper Spray? Check. Arrows coated in numbing agent? Check. Bow and flashlight? Double Check. After a full night of sleep, I felt like I could move mountains. I threw my bow over my shoulder taking a peek at myself in the mirror. I was covered head to toe in black. Even my pale skin was painted as black as night. Tonight was about stealth, tonight was about ending this.
One. By. One.
I shuffled out the front door and around to the back of the cabin. Behind all the cabins is a stock of firewood, which made an ideal ladder to get to the roof. The sun was setting over the brilliant lake, sending a jumble of vivacious colors my way. It was blinding, but beautiful. Unfortunately it seems I don't have the time anymore to take pleasure in things like that anymore.
