Chapter One!

Going to camp!

“Beep, beep, beep!!!”

My alarm clock went off. Any other day I would have thought the stupid thing was telling me to get up or die, but not today.

Today is the day I go to Camp Crimson with my entire senior class for the entire summer!

I had packed last night, with my mom’s help of course. We packed two weeks’ worth of clothes but they had a laundry house, so I was gonna be fine.

“Lightning, time to get a move on, dear.” She called to me from down stairs.

It has been just she and I since I was little. My dad was murdered viciously right before my eyes when I was five, ever since then I knew not to fear like my father did. After that horrible day, fearing for my life was something I no longer did.

I got out of bed, stretched and jumped into the shower.

When I was finished with my revitalizing shower I saw a steaming hot breakfast waiting for me on the bed. I looked to my door and saw the flash of my mom’s salt and pepper colored hair.

I smiled to myself and yelled, “Thanks mom!” I got a faint, “You’re welcome, dear.” Back.

I sat down on my soft bed that sat in the corner of my room next to the window that currently had black drapes hanging in front of.

My bed was covered in a handmade I SEE STARS blanket my mom had made just for me.

My mom is the best seamstress on the planet. Give her a design and she will have it done in no time flat.

Still in nothing but a towel. I finished my meal and went to the bathroom that was connected to my room.

Luxury of having an awesome mom!

I brushed my teeth and blow dried my, white hair; yes white. I’m not sure why but I was born with white hair. I brushed all the snarls out of it, before putting makeup on my blue eyes. I heading to my dresser located between my room door and bathroom door. I pulled out a pair of black and neon green Tripp pants. Soon after that I pulled out a bra and a custom print tee-shirt that says, “MY EYES ARE ON MY HEAD!” On the breast.

After putting on my clothes, I went over to my bed and pulled out the combat boots from beneath it. I tied them up, grabbed a spare shirt, and leaped down the stairs.

My mom smiled, looked at my shirt, and with a sigh said, “Aww! I was hoping you would leave that one so I could wear it when I visit your Aunt Macy next week.”

Ah yes, Aunt Macy, sister to my dad. She is strange…and perverted. She says she isn’t, but my mom and I are almost 100% positive she is lesbian. She, over all is gross and my mom made sure I was always busy when it came time to visit her every year on her birthday.

I grinned evilly and tossed her the matching one I grabbed out of my room before I left. She grinned back at me and gave me a hug.

That was one of many things I loved about my mom.
