Chapter Thirteen.
Over My Insane, Dead Body.
Clary had pinned me in the room and asked me where I had been for the last three days.
“Lightning! Where have you been?! Damon and I and been looking everywhere for you! How did you get in here? Are you hurt, did they hurt you?” she bombarded me with questions I didn’t dare answer yet. I needed to get everything straight in my mind first.
“Answer me Lightning!” she screeched at me, but I just raised my hand and closed my eyes.
“Clary, just give me a few minutes ok…I need to think about what happened, I am in desperate need of a shower, so do you mind giving me a little space and privacy.” She was silent for a moment and I had to open my eyes to see if she even left. She was staring at me with a slightly hurt expression before slouching and walking out the door; closing it behind her.
I sighed and walked to the closet. I needed to get out of these clothes and I was in need of a hot shower. I pulled some clothes out from the closet and grabbed my red hoodie. I didn’t want anyone to see how I looked now.
I walked slowly out of the room and down the hall; I passed one of the rooms and found Heather sucking on someone’s face. I didn’t bother making out features I just walked past.
The living room was empty which was kind of strange since this room was very popular not to long ago.
My mind wandered to when I first arrived here. Everyone was happy and excited, but now everyone was hiding in fear of what is out there. The murder of Aylissa caused that.
I took a step outside and glared up at the sun in the middle of the clear blue sky. It warmed my skin as I glanced around for others. I wasn't really surprised though when I saw no one.
Anger burned in my chest and the urge to kill Jeff and all the other rose. What did we do to them? I stomped into the girls bathhouse and checked for any other girls?
No one...good. I slowly pulled my hoodie off and stared at myself in the giant wall mirror in front of me. I looked horrible. My white hair a matted mess; full of nasty, bloody snarls. My face was bruised and cut. The scar from Jeff's knife digging into my head had healed a little, but the the rest of my face was overflowing with bloody cuts.
Peeling off my my tattered pants and shirt, only glancing at myself in the mirror, I stepped into the first open shower. I turned the water on the hottest setting and adjusted it to a cool temperature. I pulled off the rest of my shredded attire and let the water clean all my cuts out and sooth my bruises.
At first it burned and I wanted to leap out of the shower and scream in pain, but I knew it wouldn't help any. I stood in the shower for a long time before I started the cleaning process.
I cleaned myself up and moved stiffly to the mirror, grabbing a brush and combed out my hair before turning to grab my clothes.
I had just pulled the last of my clean clothes over my head when I heard snickering. I groaned and turned to see one was the high school boys watching me from one of the towel closets.
I was relieved at first that it wasn't one of those serial killers, but then a wave of embarrassment washed over me as I realized he more than likely saw me naked.
“GET OUT YOU PERVERT!” I yelled as I threw my own towel at him as he ran out of the closet. Soon following him were two other guys. I growled and started planning a way to get them back.
