Chapter Ten ((YAY))

Is This Kidnapping?

“I’m going to ask you questions and you are going to answer them. If I sense you are lying to me I will kill you on the spot, but if you answer truthfully, I will let you go to live another day or two. Understood?”

I nodded, choking for air. He released me and I feel to me knees; coughing.

“First question: Where did you first see Jeff?” Jack asked sitting on the stained bed I had been laying on for a week. I looked up at him with daggers in my eyes.

“I saw him running in the forest when I was on my bus here,” I said finishing my coughing fit. “Why ask?” I pried.

He ignored my question and asked another. “When and where was your second encounter? What happened?”

I thought about it and answered. “It was the same day at around one in the morning. I was on the inside of the gate, he was on the other side laughing at me, and then he took off into the woods.”

“So he did sneak out…” He whispered to himself.

“Sorry, what was that?” I asked as he shook his head.

“What took place exactly on your third encounter?” he seemed anxious now. Like something was seriously wrong.

“Um, I found a hole in the fence and went through it. Jeff was on the other side with his hood up and I thought it was some guy playing a prank. We had a knife fight and as you can tell, I got pretty messed up.” I showed them my cuts and bruises. “I got away after I figured out it was him. Now tell me, why are you here?”

He ignored me again and looked to Toby, who had been twitching on the desk, quietly observing the conversation. I growled and crossed my arms.

“Toby, go back and warn the others of our visitor.” He simply nodded and walked out of the room, cracking his neck.

“Now you will answer me this last question. If you have the answer, you can stay here and you will live. If you can’t answer then you will come with me. Agreed?” I glared up at him. I was going to lose either way.

“Fine…” I agreed through clenched teeth.

He lifted his mask to show his smiling lips. “Good, now...where is Jeff?” each word on his lips made me want to look away. I could see little black splotches on his cheeks and the mental image of what happened to him echo through my head.

I stared blankly at him for a moment before saying with my own grin. “You lost him didn’t you.” He clinched his jaw and pinned me back to the wall.

“Wrong answer.” He grabbed my white hair and started dragging me painfully to the door.

“Hey let me go! How am I supposed to know where he is? He stabbed me and ran through the little hole in the fence! That’s all I could know.”

He continued to drag me. “Still that’s the wrong answer.”

I let out a frustrated scream and slapped his hand away. At this point, it was dark out and we were in the middle of the small field behind the cabins.

“I answered, now get lost Jack.” He ran at me and tackled me the ground.

“You answered incorrectly so now you come with me that was the deal. Now you come willingly or by force.” I laid there, thinking of what I should do.
