Taking the elevator down to the lobby, Ryuko and Izuku were greeted by the cranky visage of Aizawa.
"Ah, perfect timing, Aizawa." Ryuko greeted.
"Hmmm, how so?" The teacher glanced between them.
"We are going out on patrol. And guess who needs a babysitter now?" She smirked.
Aizawa sighed. "Please tell me you weren't about to leave Eri without proper supervision."
"Nejire is currently watching over her and-"
"As I said, proper supervision." He grumbled.
Ryuko frowned. "As I was going to say, I knew you would be coming. If nothing else, you're punctual."
He sighed again. "Fine, just don't take too long."
Aizawa stopped for a moment and then looked as if he recalled something.
"By the way, how's the search for Eri's home tutor going?"
Ryuko deflated a bit at that. "I'm still looking. Finding a tutor who suits Eri's specific circumstances is proving to be quite difficult, unsurprisingly."
Being a full-time hero made it difficult for Ryuko to school Eri herself. And while Aizawa visited, it wasn't long enough to teach her properly.
On top of that, given Eri's prior hostile life, she was far behind in her schooling. While she may have been 7 years old, Eri's reading and writing skills were close to those of a child still in kindergarten.
With concerns surrounding her Quirk, public schooling was out of the question. Formerly, the staff at UA would have handled this on their campus. But as things were, compromises needed to be made.
Unfortunately, people who could deal with Eri's Quirk and were also good teachers didn't grow on trees.
Thankfully, as Ryuko had recently learned, this new Eri was quite different.
The old Eri was terrified of new people and almost always needed someone she knew nearby. This Eri was far more outgoing. She was still awkward here and there, but she had so much more energy and vibrance, as though she had already undergone much of the healing she needed to be whole again.
If nothing else, this simplified dealing with her Quirk's stress and management, specifically when introducing her to new people, like a potential new tutor.
Aizawa looked almost guilty. "I'll keep an eye out for a tutor when I can. I would be tutoring her myself if I had the time."
Ryuko waved her hand. "Don't say that. You're already doing plenty by visiting as much as you do. You have an entire class of students to look out for every day, on top of everything else being a teacher entails."
