Morning sunlight filtered through the gaps in the window blinds, casting warm streaks across a room decorated with childlike whimsy—a space belonging to someone utterly enchanted by dragons.
A young and green hero had sat up in his burrowed and currently crumpled bed. He blinked away the remnants of slumber, a phone against his ear...
"Hey, All-err... Yagi sensei. How are you?"
"Hahaha, you needn't be so strict about it, Young Midoriya. You can ease yourself into it."
He chuckled back, more awake now. "I think I can manage, sensei. I guess you're checking up on me?"
"Yes, I am. And, to tell you that we're finalising young Bakugo's transfer regarding your approval."
"Ah... right. I guess there'll be one empty seat in our class starting next year."
"Not necessarily..."
"Huh?"
"Well, after some advocations from the top ten after the exam, Shinso's end result was quite good."
Izuku raised his brow. "Oh? Wow, ok. I'm happy for him, so he'll be joining us?"
"He still has a lot to catch up on over the holidays. Aizawa and a few other teachers are providing lessons for him as we speak. So it depends on whether he succeeds and passes all the tests. In Aizawa's words, he won't let him in if he doesn't show at least the same promise as everyone else in 1-A."
Izuku had a small smile at that. "Does that mean he'll also be forced to do the fitness test?"
"Ha! Knowing, Aizawa. He'll probably do that or something similar at the very least."
The boy pondered that. 'His Quirk is not gonna help him much during that. I don't think there was a single event it could help with... unless he's doing it with others, and Aizawa lets him control them to do the events for him? He let animals do events for Koda, so it's the same thing... kinda?-'
He cupped his chin as he thought further.
'-But how would Shinso get grouped with anyone...? Wait... the new students for next year, the next first-years. Aizawa will probably group Shinso with them. He might even modify the test and give scores to people who avoid getting brainwashed or break out of it...-'
He winced slightly.
'-Those poor freshmen are gonna have it rough on their first day...'
"Are you still there, young Midoriya?"
