Pandora Reef
Metkayina Clan
Li'teya sat on her ilu as she glided through the water. She followed Tsireya, Roxto and Ao'nung as they took the forest na'vi to their tree of souls. Li'teya looked to her left with a smile, but it faltered slightly when she remembered Lo'ak had decided to visit Payakan instead.
Tsireya rose to the surface, slowing her ilu. "We are here", she smiled. The group followed Tsireya into the cove. "This is the cove of ancestors, and this is our most sacred place.
The Omatikaya na'vi glanced around the cove in awe of its beauty. The cove shimmered under the sunset as eclipse began. "Eclipse is the best time to be here".
Li'teya lifted her hand, blocking the sun from her eyes as the water beneath her lit up. They travelled a bit further when Roxto turned the group "this is it. the spirit tree" his eyes quickly glanced at Kiri.
The group all dived underwater and swam towards the tree. Tsireya pointed to her queue to the bright pink leaf showing them what to do. Li'teya saw her brother's worry, so she gave him a reassuring nod. She pulled her queue, pressing it onto the leaf feeling her soul connect with Eywa.
Li'teya walked along the beach, the sun hitting the back of her head. She spotted a familiar blue na'vi sitting with their knees pulled to their chest. She made her way towards them. "Tsu'tey", she whispered, taking in his appearance. He looked more mature, his features more prominent, but he looked exhausted. "Oh, brother".
Tsu'tey wiped a tear down his cheek as footsteps approached from behind. The na'vi sat down next to him, pulling him into a hug.
"I miss her so much", he cried.
"I know", Kiri soothed ", I miss them both'.
Li'teya stared in confusion at the pair. Kiri and Tsu'tey were close but never this close.
Tsu'tey sniffed. "I don't think I can go and see her. I know it's been five years since it happened, but."
Kiri held him tighter. "I can't bring myself to visit him either; every time I think I'm ready, I can't do it."
"Tsu'tey!" A young voice called out. Li'teya stepped back as Tuk ran up to him, jumping on his back.
Tsu'tey quickly wiped his tears " hi, tuktuk", lifting her onto his lap "what are you doing out here?"
"I thought you'd gone missing and got scared", she confessed, hiding her face in his chest.
Tsu'tey gave Kiri a look. "I'm right here, ok; I'm not going anywhere," he reassured, holding her close.
"Daddy said I can visit my brother today. Are you going to the spirit tree to visit Teya?" she asked innocently.
Tsu'tey closed his eyes, taking a breath. The mention of her name caused a sharp pain in his heart.
Li'teya's heart dropped. Why would Tsu'tey go to the spirit tree to see her unless...
Teya shook her head before running towards her hut. She moved the flap running inside but stopping at the scene in front of her. Freddie sat in the back corner of the house where Li'teya's belongings were collecting dust.
"No", she whispered, moving further into the tent.
Her father held a picture as he silently sobbed. Li'teya looked over the photo he was carrying, which was the photo she and Lo'ak had taken in the forest.
"Daddy", she mumbled sadly. The flap of the hut lifted as Jake Sully walked through with his head hung low.
"How are you doing, brother?" Jake asked
Freddie looked up with puffy eyes and tear-stained cheeks. "Li'teya would be 23 next month", he breathed.
Jake sighed " My son is at the spirit tree now; how is Tsu'tey?"
"He refuses to see either of them. He said he can't face them knowing they won't be here when he returns."
Jake took a deep breath " I think he should see her; he'll regret not seeing his little sister."
Teya couldn't stand to hear any more; running back onto the beach, the world in front of her began to disappear.
Teya's eyes opened to see Tsu'tey signalling for her to swim up. Teya looked around to see Neteyam lifting a seizing Kiri to the surface.
Neteyam lifted Kiri onto his ilu, giving her CPR as their fathers had taught them.
Roxto grabbed Kiri's hand "what happened?" he asked, evident concern in his voice.
"It was a seizure", Neteyam stated, still trying to resuscitate his sister. Li'teya covered Tuk's eyes as she grabbed Tsu'tey's hand.
"We need to get her to the village now", Teya stressed, calling her ilu
"Is she breathing?" Roxto panicked, his eyes darting from Kiri to Neteyam
Neteyam shook his head as he tried to bring his sister back. Tuk buried her head in Teya's shoulder while Tsu'tey whispered comforting words to the young girl.
Kiri let out a gasp, but she remained unconscious. Everyone let out a sigh of relief as the group climbed onto their ilus, following Neteyam as he raced off back to the village.
Li'teya held onto Tuk as she rode back to the village, the images of her vision never leaving her mind.
