Chapter 16

Pandora Reef

Metkayina  Clan

As eclipse ended, the sun shone through the cracks of the cove. Li'teya stirred in her sleep as the sun gently lit up her face. Her eyes fluttered open to see Lo'ak's eyes still shut and his gently moving up and down softly Teya couldn't deny how pretty he looked as the sun his face, his eyes twitched every so often. She smiled. "Lo'ak", she whispered, placing her hand on his cheek.

Lo'ak tightened his arms around her waist "five more minutes Te" he grumbled. Teya chuckled, twisting his braid around her fingers.

"We have to get back to the village."

"Or we could just stay here", he whispered with a cheeky grin as he pulled Li'teya onto his lap. Teya placed her hands on his chest, flipping her hair over her shoulder. Lo'ak leaned forward, pressing his lips to Teya's. Teya melted into this kiss, her hands finding their place in his hair.

"Lo'ak... we ... need ... to ... go ... back", she mumbled between kisses.

Lo'ak and Li'teya got off their ilu behind the village, so the spotters wouldn't see them and sound the horn. They snuck through the docks hiding behind huts whenever someone passed them. They quickly ran to their tents. "I'll see you later", Teya whispered, leaning her forehead against his.

Lo'ak closed his eyes, relishing the moment. Teya pulled away, giving him one last look before she tiptoed into her mauri. She sighed in relief when she saw it empty, and her father must be out fishing and Tsu'tey training. Teya walked towards her bed, ready to get a quick nap before her family returned.

"And where have you been?"

Teya screamed as she spun around to where the voice came from. She held her heart. "You scared the shit out of me, skxwang", she cursed.

Tsu'tey stepped into the light with his arms crossed with an unimpressed look.

"Where have you been?" he asked again

"Out", she shrugged

"Out? Teya, you can't just leave and not tell anyone," he urged. His voice is getting louder and more commanding.

She just scoffed. "I did tell someone."

"Who?"

"Lo'ak"

"And where was Lo'ak? Mr Sully couldn't find him last night either."

"He was with me" Tsu'tey placed his hands on his nose, a habit he picked up from his father.

"You can't do this, Teya; you are the future leader of this clan. You can not be sneaking away and making childish decisions," he complained.

Teya blinked a couple of times. "Wait, what? You knew"

"Of course, I knew", he exhaled, stepping closer to her. "You were meant to lead Li'teya".

Teya dipped her head back, allowing her hair to fall behind her shoulders. Tsu'tey's eyes widened. "When did you get those bruises? Was it during the fight with those Metkayina boys?"

Teya placed her hand over her neck in panic. "I'm going to kill him", she muttered in Russian. "Must have done?" she said hurriedly, trying to get away from tsu'tey, but he grabbed her forearm.

"I've seen a lot of bruises in my life, and those don't look like ones from a fight."

"It's nothing, brother", she dismissed

"Holy shit, you've got hickeys; dad is going to murder you, dumbass", he laughed as he tried to pry her hand off her neck. "When did you get those? You were fine yesterday..." he stopped midsentence as the pieces suddenly clicked.

"LO'AK" he yelled

"Shhhh", Teya said, placing her hand over his mouth. "Kindly shut the fuck up, or I will kill you", she threatened.

"IS THAT WHERE YOU WENT LAST NIGHT? DID YOU HAVE SEX?" he babbled, but it was muffed from Teya's hand.

"I was going to tell you later because I didn't know how you would react. This is why I didn't want to tell you. Now I'm going to remove my hand, and you will be quiet. Understand.

Tsu'tey nodded as teya removed her hand slowly.

"YOU HAD SEX WITH LO'AK" he shouted.

"oh my god", she breathed, collapsing onto her bed. "Thanks for telling the entire village".

"You are so much better to play with than Lo'ak", Tuk commented as she played with them on the dock with Li'teya. Teya smiled at the young girl. It was moments like these which made Teya appreciate life. Small moments with Tuk playing with her toys. Small moments when she saw Tsu'tey and Kiri get along. Small moments when Lo'ak Neteyam were play fighting instead of arguing.

The sound of the village horn brought her out of her daze. She picked up Tuk putting her on her hip as the rest of the forest na'vi joined her. They all shared confused looks as the Metkayina dived into the water, swimming towards the commotion.

"The tulken have returned! Our brothers and sisters have returned," Tsireya announced as she rode her ilu towards the tulken.

The forest na'vi all exchanged smiles as they called their ilus to follow the Metkayina. Li'teya saw the upset look on Lo'ak's face. "What's wrong, ma'loak" she questioned, placing her hand on his cheek.

"Payakan should be here with them; it is not fair."

"Go and see him now; you are his brother", she encouraged.

"Come with me. Payakan has been dying to meet you."

Brother", Lo'ak shouted, getting Payakan's attention. Teya sighed in awe at the tulken. She had never seen a creature so magnificent. Lo'ak grabbed Teya's hand, pulling her onto Payakan's fin. Payakan lifted his fin so the pair sat at his eye level.

"Brother, this is Li'teya", Lo'ak signed.

"She is even prettier than you described," Payakan said.

Teya blushed. "Lo'ak speaks about me?"

"All the time, he does not shut up. Teya is so perfect in how she talks, and her eyes are so beautiful," he mocked.

Teya turned t face a very embarrassed Lo'ak, a light blush dusted across his cheeks. "Is that so?" she questioned.

Lo'ak slapped Payakan's fin. Pakayan told Li'teya to get on his back; she gave Lo'ak a puzzled look but listened to the Tulken. Payakan then dunked his fin into the ocean, taking Lo'ak with him. Teya laughed at the action. "Not cool, bro", Lo'ak scolded, but Teya and Payakan laughed.

"You could do so much better than this skxwang", Payakan commented

Teya looked down at the boy fighting to stay afloat on his fin. "Yea, but he's my skxwang, and I love him."

Payakan huffed, throwing Teya off his back to land on his fin. "You two are so weird; you're perfect".
