Chapter 7 Just without the insanity

Lloyd POV

We've been here for a while, Jay had picked out the book from wherever he had it that Clutch made and started reading it a while ago.

"That Clutch Powers guy might have run off to save himself, stranding us here, but I have to admit, his book is pretty good." Jay says, after turning a few chapters.

"Is he serious?" I ask

"As Sirius Black." Morro responds

"Huh?"

"Yes, he is." He says looking down, disappointed from me not understanding.

There was an explosion from outside that really didn't sound good. Jay however ignores it to continue talking.

"It has a section for everything. Even, "What to Do When All is Lost". "

More of the Pyramid shakes and stones start falling from the ceiling, making the chains rattle. Jay ignores it to continue reading.

"He recommends vocal exercises, like, Brobrogoo-goo~ Brobrogoo-goo~." I stare at him, really wanting to shut him up.

"How is saying a bunch of nonsense possibly going to help us?" I ask

"It says it keeps you calm by relaxing your face. Brobrogoo-goo~" Jay answers with a smile, saying the vocal thing weirdly that time.

"Or makes everyone around them insane so they don't understand what happens when they die." Morro says, looking like wanting to have exactly that happen, just without the insanity.

"Perhaps Clutch didn't abandon us. Perhaps he went to seek help." Zane says, facing Nya as we all try to ignore Jay and she tries to get out of the chains again.

"Sure. And maybe the evil snake queen we just accidentally released from an ancient tomb is headed to Ninjago City for some sightseeing." Nya answers Zane

"I find that highly unlikely." Zane says to Nya

"We need to update your sarcasm circuits, Zane. If we get out of here."

"We wouldn't even be hanging here if Jay hadn't opened that crypt." Cole said, trying to undo the chain himself again.

Morro and I share a look of confusion from their behaviors. Last I was told and Morro remembers, they were a really tight knit group who rarely fought.. What happened to that? They lost proper connection after the Oni battle maybe? Or are only tight when we're all here? Did me leaving hurt their friendship? That would suck.

"Me? Zane's the one who didn't warn us in time." Jay says, before sighing and repeating that phrase.

"How can you blame Zane? Who opens a possibly cursed tomb without checking it out first?" Cole asks, obviously becoming done with Jay's antics.

"Opening a tomb IS how you check it out!" He says, pulling the chain, making us move closer to him. "And what about Kai, hmm? He's the one who let her steal his powers." Jay finishes, moving the chain again which made Kai flip up, hit the wall and fall down in an awkward angle against the chain.

Morro coughs to cover a laugh.

"Hey, watch it!" Nya yells at Jay while pointing at him, which makes him awkwardly smile in fear, apology and regret.

"Yeah, she's right. How's Fireboy doing, frosty?" Morro asks, looking over at Kai.

Zane scans him, "His vitals are stable. He should recover shortly."

"Good. Now we just have to figure a way out of here. Any ideas?.." I say, looking around at the others. Jay gasps,

"Maybe there's something in Clutch's book. He's got a chapter entitled, 'Escaping from Close Calls'." He says, flipping open the book.
