mrs. cha smiled happily when she heard that the group of six chose cinderella as their play.
donghyuck stood at the side of the stage while sooyun positioned herself in the center, her hands holding a broom.
"once upon a time, there was a girl called cinderella", the purple haired boy started and sooyun hummed to herself while cleaning the floor.
"she was a lovely and graceful girl, blessed with beauty and kindness", donghyuck commented smiling, glancing at the protagonist of the play for a moment while knowing that his words were secretly not only applied to cinderella herself.
"her father passed away years ago, leaving cinderella to live with her stepmother and her two stepsisters", hyuck narrated.
hearing those lines were the call for haewon, chenle and jisung as they appeared on the stage. the two youngest wore wigs and flipped sassily their hair back.
mark, renjun, yejoon and jaemin let out chuckles at their sight while mrs. cha grinned amusedly.
the three of them approached sooyun aka cinderella. chenle and jisung were standing behind haewon, arms crossed while giving their stepsister judgemental looks.
"cinderella", haewon, who represented the stepmother, called out coldly and grabbed sooyun's attention. her eyes were displaying the hatred feeling she had for the younger girl.
"have you cleaned the bedrooms?", she inquired emotionlessly. "yes, ma'am", sooyun answered in fear. "the bathroom?" "yes, ma'am." "the living room?" "yes ma'am", sooyun whispered in fear while her grip on the broom tightened
haewon glanced judgingly at the floor and found slight dirt there. "no, you didn't. don't you see the dirty spots on the ground?", she pointed down before laughing sarcastically, "that's ridiculous!"
her laugh stopped abruptly and her forced smile dropped. coldness and madness were written on her face.
"you had one single job and you failed! you lazy, ungrateful kid!", she scolded harshly and shook her head in disappointment. sooyun flinched at these words and faced the floor, she was too scared to look up.
"you will clean the living room AGAIN and i want the room to be absolutely clean. no dirty spots on the floor. understood?", haewon the stepmother demanded strictly, hearing no answer from the blonde girl.
"look into my eyes, cinderella. have you understood?", she repeated coldly. the younger girl obeyed and looked up to meet her stepmother's intimidating eyes.
"y-yes ma'am", sooyun responded quietly and scared, breaking the eye contact before wiping and cleaning the floor again, her grip on the broom was never loose.
haewon turned around and left the room slash the stage, maintaining the cold expression on her face.
as soon as the stepmother left the scene, chenle and jisung started to smirk in amusement.
"today i'll be nice and won't pour water on the floor like i'd normally do", the chinese boy with a blonde wig announced chuckling and jisung gasped loudly.
"sister! you're so kind!", the taller boy mentioned and smiled at chenle. however, his smile dropped when he looked at cinderella. his brows were furrowed while he was judging her strongly.
"you should be grateful that we're kind!", jisung exclaimed arrogantly and threw his brown wig back. "thank you, dearest sisters", sooyun thanked and bowed.
"i can't believe that you're part of our family", jisung commented in disgust. "who said that she belongs to our family?", chenle answered maliciously and the stepsisters giggled devilishly before they left the stage.
