jaemin finally returned to school after winter break had ended.
he was basically suspended for just one week so he didn't miss out on much stuff, however, he was glad to be reunited with his friends and to be able to go to school again.
well, what he had definitely not missed were the shady rumors about him and the judgemental looks of others in school.
the people around him made it obvious that the rumors were still lingering in the air, making jaemin feel nauseous.
his fanclub had been quiet too since the first rumors spread across the school. it was a bit strange but the pink haired boy didn't waste much time thinking about the odd and unusual occurence.
he wanted to stop overthinking and ignore all the rumors about him.
at the end, it's all made up by random people who are not worth his time and he knew that none of the rumors about him were true.
well, he was trying to have that mindset, nonetheless, it was harder to than expected to remind him of these things.

"and that's how i have accidentally broken the table again", jeno finished his story and took a sip of his apple juice.
"what the fuck jeno", donghyuck commented in shock and ate the chocolate bar sooyun gave him. the purple haired boy was always surprised of his best friend's strength and his ability to accidentally damage things.
"quit the gym membership, dude", mark added concernedly while eating a piece of watermelon.
"seriously or else you will be stronger than thanos", yejoon stated half-jokingly, sitting comfortably on the bean bag.
the drama club members were assembled in the backstage room of the theatre hall since they wanted to spend lunch break together.
jaemin glanced fondly at his friend group and felt thankful that he got to hang out with them. he loved the chaotic energy they radiated and spread.
"what's on your mind, jaem?", a soft voice sounded next to him, snapping him out of his thoughts.
the pink haired boy turned to the person whose voice belonged to. it still hit him when renjun called him by that nickname.
"not much, just cherishing the time we all got to spend together", he answered genuinely with the sweetest smile the chinese had seen.
"that's adorable", renjun commented grinning. "like you", he added whispering but quickly stopped himself as it was initially not meant to be said out loud.
"what?", jaemin asked off guard, having to check if he heard that right.
"adorable like your cats!", renjun excused himself and gave him an awkward smile. oh boy, he wanted to bury himself alive.
"oh, by the way, how are your cats doing?", he asked curiously, attempting to change the subject.
"they are doing good, they have grown so much the last few weeks", jaemin responded and cracked a smile, "you should come over one more time and see them again."
renjun's eyes lit up at his suggestion as he nodded in agreement. "i'd love to do that", the two-toned haired boy answered beamingly. joy was written on his face and his smile was as bright as a star.
jaemin couldn't help but melt at his cute reaction. his heart warmed up while his mind went feral. he was definitely looking forward to their next cat date— i mean, cat play day as friends — obviously.
