The boats entrance was higher than the pontoon we were on and normally like the time I had gone over they had a metal staircase to help people on. "Hey guys were going to have to be careful, make sure its something you can Carry!" I yelled as they walked down the gangway after returning from a trip to the car. Spotting the staircase at the end of the floating platform I managed to line it up with the entrance and we started unpacking the car. I made my way over the tiny gap and into the boat, this boat had an extra level so as I climbed the stairs I saw more seats for passengers and finally another level above, not the roof but inside, the last level was the crew room.
Looking around I figured out out to steer and turn the engines off and on. We loaded up the boat with what we thought we would need- okay a bit more of what we wanted than needed but hey we can do what we want. I made my way back up to the control room and started the engines. They were on their lowest setting as I cautiously steered the boat out of the Mariana. Once we hit the open ocean the waves and wind picked up and I gradually increased the engines speed, we cruised threw the water heading for a monsterous shadow in the distance.
The wind didn't make the waves huge so I guessed I picked the right day and put the engines to full throttle, within minutes of being in open ocean the mainland disappeared. When I had been on the smaller boat it had taken us atleast fifteen minutes for the mainland to disappear- but that might of been because of the size of the boat and the engine speed needed or we weren't going full speed the whole way.
The island seemed to get bigger and bigger until it wasn't a shadow anymore. I gradually slowed the engines until we drifted in, grabbing the anchors from the outside deck in the front I could see Flic and Aquilla tie the ropes and cast them over the side into the sand, Sky on the other hand had been with me until we drifted in and as I desended the stairs to the main deck I saw her throw the back anchors out. All the stress of making it safely disappeared and I helped secure the last of the extra anchors we'd found to make sure the boat never floated away. Once we were done we pilled everything to the front and I stepped off feeling the similar almost white sand beneath my feet as the waves slowly rolled up to my toes.
