Never in my life have I ever imagined... that there would be a day when I would run into someone having the same name as Tobie. And it was Edwards of all people.

I still remembered the day when I first met him. I could recall him being playful, but until now, my opinion of him hasn't changed one bit. He carried this light and bright aura with him. He was easy to get along with and comfortable to be with. That was what I felt.

Ang hirap mang aminin, pero unti-unti ko itong naikumpara sa Tobiah na nilalaman ng puso at buong pagkatao ko. They were similar in so many aspects. Their personality, their intelligence, that bright genuine smile that they naturally put on their faces...

No pretense. No hidden motives. No fake facade. Just raw sincerity and warmth.

Pagkatapos kong makipagkamay rito, agad kong binawi ang kamay na tila may nahawakang nakakapaso. Bigla akong natauhan sa mga iniisip.

"You can call me Tob, too. Only if you-"

"I-I prefer Edwards," agap ko sa kanya at napaiwas ng tingin. "Uh. Nasanay na kasi ako kaya..."

I bit my lower lip as I fiddled my ring.

"Hey, no worries. You can call me whatever you want as long as you're comfortable. It's fine by me, Ophelia. I couldn't ask for more... now that we're friends. But we're friends, right? Just to confirm!" he chuckled lowly to lighten up the mood.

He must have sensed my sudden stiffness, so to avoid any misunderstanding, I plastered a friendlier smile on my face as I nodded to him with all my might.

"Of course! I-It's an honor to be your friend. Salamat..."

Panandalian itong natulala at hindi nakapagsalita habang nakatitig sa akin. Ngunit napangisi rin naman ito kalaunan.

"No. The pleasure is mine, Ophelia. Thank you," he emphasized the last word as he pointed at me.

Hindi rin naman nagtagal ay pumanhik na ito sa iba pang kaibigan na nakapwesto sa pinakalikuran.

In addition, Luisa finally showed up two minutes before the call time. As she continued to explain why she wasn't able to arrive earlier, she kept apologizing.

I couldn't help but realize how lucky I am to have Kuya Orpheus as my older brother.

Hindi rin nagtagal nang pumasok na ang mga organizer at ilang faculty members sa bus.

Pinaliwanag sa amin ang itinerary sa araw na iyon at kung ano ang mga dapat naming iasaalang-alang pagkarating sa head office ng Smitten dito sa Pilipinas.

Excitement was written all over our faces as the exclusive bus took off when the clock struck six. May mga dalang snacks si Luisa kaya pagkatulak pa lang ng bus, may nakabukas na agad itong chips.

Napailing ako. Mukhang feel na feel pa nito ang field trip. We talked about a lot of things that we weren't able to discuss at school. Katulad ng trends, college universities, at... boys.

"Wala ako noon. Alam mo naman ang nangyari," I sighed when she inquired me about it.

"Yeah, I'm sorry for asking," pahina nang pahina niyang wika. "Good thing he's out of our lives now."
