Adryn and Eclipse were brought to The Entity's realm separately, but on the same day, just minutes apart. Their killer was taken when Adryn was as well.

Adryn had been taken first, she had been determined to end her life after years of unhappiness, failure, and heartbreak. She had finally given up and went into the forest behind her family's house to end it all. She brought her knife with her, the one that she'd gotten from her brother on her last birthday and disappeared in the middle of the night. She went to her favorite place in the forest, which was where a little creek ran through, with a little pond area in one spot. Adryn and Eclipse used to play in the creek and pond when they were children, so she had a lot of good memories.

As Adryn sat there on a rock, she debated how she wanted to go about this. She never thought this is where her story would end. Going to die, alone, in the forest. She would have found it funny if it wasn't such a serious moment for her. Figuring that there was no best way to go about this, Adryn brought the knife to her left wrist and cut as deep as she could, while wincing in pain. Blood began to flow immediately. She then carefully switched hands with the knife and did the same to her right wrist as well. More blood flowed from her.

Adryn just let the knife fall into the pond to be swept away by the current. She watched for a moment as the moon illuminated the creek and pond. She hadn't realized that the pond and creek were higher than usual, probably due to the rain storms that'd been going on recently. So, as she watched the knife disappear, she realized that she didn't want her body found so easily. So, using the last bit of strength that she had, Adryn moved herself to the water and let herself gently slide into it, hoping she didn't make too much sound to alert anyone if they'd been nearby. Adryn shivered as she felt the cold water hit her skin. It was a little bit of a shock, but it at least took the pain away from her wrists.

She allowed herself to be pulled under the water. She didn't struggle, she didn't fight the current, she just allowed it to take her. As the water pulled her along, she began to only be able to see blackness surrounding her. She expected that to be the last thing she'd ever see, until she woke up in an unfamiliar place, with strange people around her.

Eclipse had been in her bedroom late that night when she suddenly felt pain tear through her chest. She could feel that something bad had happened to Adryn, but the searing pain was from something happening to her soulmate. She could no longer feel her connection to Adryn, nor the man she loved. Lee Taemin, the K-pop idol, and Eclipse had only met in person a few times, but both of them knew they were meant for each other. Even so, with his priorities in South Korea, and hers in America, they maintained a long-distance relationship.

However, now that Eclipse could no longer feel Adryn or Taemin, she was left heartbroken and confused. She grabbed her phone and tried to call them multiple times, only for it to ring until their voicemails picked up. No one answered their phones, which was horrifying to Eclipse. They always answered her calls. She knew something really bad must have happened to both of them.

She wasn't sure why she couldn't feel them anymore, but she was scared. She began to feel a sense of hopelessness and terror as it was all becoming too much. Through her tears, which she hadn't noticed before, she began to see a black fog wrap around her. Eclipse just closed her eyes and allowed the fog to take her, hoping that it would take her to her soul sister and her soulmate. When she opened her eyes, she saw a bunch of strange people around her, along with Adryn who looked just as confused as Eclipse was.
