Chapter 10

After a little while of sobbing alone, Adryn was able to regain her composure. Adryn wanted nothing more than to just forget her words and feelings, so she went to Wesker's bookshelf. She grabbed a random book and opened it up. After skimming through exactly three pages, she set the book back where she'd gotten it.

"Yup, I'm too dumb for that book..." Adryn muttered to herself with a sigh.

"You aren't too dumb, that book just isn't for you." Adryn yelped and spun around to see Wesker standing in the doorway. He looked amused at her startled actions.

"You fucking asshole! You scared me!" Adryn snapped at him, not amused at his actions. Wesker chuckled at her though, making her frown.

"It's cute that I can startle you." Wesker stepped into the room and closed and locked the door before stepping closer to Adryn. He could see that she'd been crying and had tears lingering on her face. "Why have you been crying? I was told that you got upset over something about your previous relationship."

"You might hate me if I tell you," Adryn muttered sadly, feeling the tears coming to her eyes again. Hearing this, Wesker was further worried.

"Tell me anyway."

"Alright..." Adryn sighed as she looked extremely uncomfortable. "I should have told you before, I guess, but I was scared and you never have asked me about my previous relationship so it never really came up..." Adryn sat down on their bed causing Wesker to sit next to her. He allowed her to take a hold of one of his hands to mess with as she thought about what she wanted to say and how she wanted to say it.

"Adryn?" Wesker could tell that Adryn was already fighting tears. She blinked them back and continued to hold his hand as she stared down at it. She didn't want to look up at him.

"I had been dating a friend of Taemin's. His name doesn't matter, nor will I tell you what it is. He is also a Korean idol like Taemin and had I adored him. With every piece of me... at first. We were together for a year before everything came crashing down." Adryn paused as she thought about what was next. " I got pregnant. At first, my ex was happy and excited... but then others got involved. Between his group members telling him that the child might not be his, his family pressuring him to keep it a secret along with his company forcing it to remain a secret, things got bad quickly. No one else had been allowed to know I was pregnant, not even my family. I was to stay hidden and apart from my ex. With everyone's voices in his ears, he started to doubt me and our baby as well." Adryn paused, looking up at Wesker with tears in her eyes.

"What happened next?" Wesker was almost afraid to ask that. He had a feeling that whatever did happen, is the true reason why Adryn had ended her life.

"When I was a little over five months, I found out that I was going to be having a girl. That's when my ex sent someone to kill me and our baby. I won't get into specifics, but I myself nearly died, while my baby had no hope to survive. She died, leaving me all alone and devastated. Due to my forced miscarriage, I was told that I was never going to be able to have children again. It would take some miracle, but I never found out if that was a thing, because I'd already given up on life due to everything that I've told you before, and the loss of my baby."

Wesker wasn't sure if he was more upset about the fact that Adryn thought he'd hate her for this, or that she went through all that in the first place. Either way, he was furious as Adryn cried remembering all her trauma. She'd looked away from him as she softly cried to herself as Wesker collected his thoughts. He then pulled his hand away from Adryn and took a hold of her face, bringing it to look at him.

"My darling, I could never hate you over something like this. Never think that I would hate you for any reason." Wesker began with what Adryn had worried about in the first place. "I'm sorry you had to go through that. I can't imagine how that must feel. I would kill your ex if I could, he deserves to die for what he's done to you." Adryn couldn't help but chuckle through her tears.
