Chapter 22

As time continued on, Eclipse and Taemin began to help Adryn in secret. They worked on figuring out how to unlock her true form and abilities. It took them quite some time, but they finally got her to where she needed to be. Despite this, Adryn wasn't going to be able to fight very well with how big she'd gotten so quickly. She had to be very careful as to not hurt the baby within her.

Wesker didn't like her going anywhere without him anymore, so Adryn was forced to sneak out of their room while he was sleeping. However, the consequences of this were that Wesker wasn't an idiot, so he could tell Adryn was hiding something from him. He knew she was lying to him about why she wanted to hang out with Eclipse and Taemin alone, and why he was not invited with them sometimes. Wesker's mind went to come awful places trying to figure out why his lover would lie to him.

Finally, everything blew up when Adryn tried to sneak out during a napping session. Wesker pretended to be asleep, so when he felt Adryn slip out of bed, he spoke up to her.

"Where are you going?" Wesker asked, his tone low and quiet, but held sadness in it. Adryn jolted as she nearly lost her balance, having to lean against the bookshelves to steady herself. "Why are you leaving me to sleep alone? It was your idea to nap in the first place."

"I, uh, have to go to the bathroom." Adryn lied to Wesker, as he sat up and looked at her, clearly not believing her.

"You just went a little bit ago." Wesker then slipped out of their bed and made his way to her. "Why are you lying to me and why have you been lying to me for a while now? Why are you suddenly hiding things from me? What are you doing when you sneak out?"

"I just hang out with Eclipse? She's been rather clingy lately." Adryn lied again to Wesker, he knew it too.

"You're a bad liar, my dear."

"I'm not doing anything wrong, so don't worry about it." Adryn pushed past Wesker and went for the door, only for Wesker to grab her arm roughly before slamming her back against the wall next to the door. "The fuck?! Albert?!" Adryn snapped in pain as she looked up at her lover only to gasp in shock. Her heart sank as she saw his eyes were black now. It was obvious he'd been taken over completely by The Entity. Her heart began to race immediately, realizing she'd been caught.

"Why are you hiding things? It isn't nice to lie to the man you love." It was Wesker's voice but distorted by The Entity's as well.

"I-I have been doing anything bad! I've just been-" Adryn was cut off by The Entity wrapping one of Wesker's hands around her neck before pushing on her. It instantly cut off Adryn's breathing capabilities. Adryn tried to pry his hand off of her throat, but she couldn't. With his strength and The Entity's strength, she was too weak.

"I know what the three of you have been doing!" The Entity roared at Adryn. "It's pointless though. I'm going to take your baby no matter what is going on. No matter what you three are working on in secret!" Adryn struggled against The Entity, trying to break free. She couldn't breathe though, and the strength she did have was leaving her as she began to black out. Before she could pass out though, the door to the bedroom was broken open by Eclipse and Taemin bursting into the room. "This isn't over." The Entity glared at Eclipse and Taemin as she released Adryn, allowing the pregnant woman to take a deep breath as her vision began to return.

"Are you alright? The fuck is going on?!" Eclipse yelled as she went to Adryn to help her continue to stand. Wesker took a step backward, confused as to what was going on, and horrified that he'd just attacked Adryn.

"She... she knows. We need to act now." Adryn gasped out as she regained the ability to speak. "She's going to kill everyone..."

"What is going on? Are you alright? What did The Entity mean by take our baby?" Wesker rapid-fired off questions through his shock. Adryn stepped forward and took his hand, the same one that'd just been choking her.
