"Come on babe, we have to go." I put in my other
golden dangling earring.

"I'm ready." Kenji walked out, wearing his usual all black attire.

" Kenji, baby, please put some colors on." I sighed.

" Why?"

"Because we're trying to make it look like you're not in the mafia. You look like you're in the mafia."

"No I don't." he frowned.

"Kenji." I glared at him.

"Fine. I'll match your brown look." He rolled his dark brown eyes.

I turned back to Amaya and finished putting her hair into a bun. I made sure to slick her baby hairs and put a cute little brown rose clip in her hair. I had on a dark brown dress and brown jacket. Along with my gold necklaces and earrings.

"Okay I'm ready." Kenji stepped out, wearing a dark brown long sleeved shirt and brown jeans. He also had a brown belt on with silver necklaces and rings.

I smiled, admiring him for a few seconds. "Okay let's go."

"Wait." He pulled a box out of his pocket and opened it. "Your engagement ring. You need it. Just incase your family questions why it isn't on."
He took it out of the box and slid it onto my hand.

"Oh my God." I examined the diamond ring. It shined, reflecting off of the light. "Kenji it's beautiful."

"Just temporary." He kissed my forehead. "Let's go."

We headed downstairs to the car.

"I'm driving." I got in the front seat and put my seatbelt on.

Kenji opened the driver's side door. "You are not driving."

"My seatbelt is already on, and I'm not getting up." I pressed the start button.

"Alex."

"Kenji."

He sighed, walking to the passenger's side and getting in. He put his seat belt on.

"Yeah..." I smiled. "Be my passenger princess."

"Okay, so what are we all doing today?" Kenji asked.

"It is.." I glanced at the time. "10:34 in the morning right now. We'll get to my granny's house around eleven. Lucia's meeting us there. Zara, Lorenzo, and the kids are already there. Some of my aunties are there too. We're just going to cook basically. And the party starts at three."

"What kind of food?" He asked.

"Soul food. Fried chicken, collard greens, baked macaroni and cheese, baked beans. Also grilled food. Grilled ribs, hamburgers, shish kabobs... a lot, Kenj. But we also have a lot of people who can cook, so that shouldn't be a problem."
