~Kenji~
Xan gasped, and I put her behind me, shielding her. My mom and a group of security guards stood. They put their weapons away as soon as they saw it was us. Glass was shattered on the floor.

"What the hell happened?" I asked.

"We were ambushed. Someone's team came here and started causing chaos. We have to go back to Japan. It's too dangerous here. There isn't much time to explain. Go get what you need." My mom explained.

I looked at Xan. "Go. Now." She ran up the stairs without hesitating. I closed the door. "Where's dad?"

My mom hesitated. "He was shot. He's fine. We have to go."

My eyes widened.

My mom stepped closer, grabbing my chin. "Do not forget who you are Kenji. Do not forget what we do. Go pack now."

I ran upstairs to my room and got my gun ready. I didn't need clothes. I had plenty in Japan. I'd have plenty of clothes wherever we went.

Xan ran to my room. "I'm done." She carried a small duffel back. "Kenji, are we safe?"

"Yes. You're safe as long as you're with me." I put my things in another duffel bag. "Let's go."

We ran down the stairs and into the van. It was a quick ride to where the jet was placed. We quickly boarded and took off. Alex was obviously anxious. I took her hand.

"It's okay." I whispered.

She quickly grabbed a trash can and threw up in it. I rubbed her back. I had forgotten how drunk she was.

"Come on, let's go get you cleaned up." I lifted her up and brought her to the bathroom.

After a while, she fell asleep in one of the beds. I went to check on mom.

"Hey." I greeted her as she sipped on wine.

"Hello darling." She sat up from reading her book.

"What happened, mom?"

She took a deep breath. "We were watching a movie. And when we finished, we were about to go to bed." She continued. "And then the attack happened. There were about twenty of them. Italian I don't know which empire sent them over and why. I'm suspecting. Lorenzo's. But we'll have to see."

Lorenzo. A mob boss that our family wasn't too fond of.

"I'll have it figured out by tomorrow." I assured her. "We are going to Italy. Not Japan."

"I figured. You should get some sleep. We'll arrive by tomorrow afternoon or morning in Italy."

I listened to her, going to the bed where Xan was sleeping. She had taken off the shirt that I put on her. She had a bra on... sadly. I got in next to her. I held her close. She wrapped her arms around me, our eyes met.

"Why aren't you sleeping?" I asked.

"I needed my sleeping buddy. I missed him." she mumbled.

"He missed you too." I kissed her forehead.

I sat in the bed in one of the rooms in the penthouse. Rome was so damn beautiful. I'd go viewing if Kenji wasn't on a mission. Kenji walked in the room. Fresh out the shower. I looked him up and down and then put my eyes back on the view. The beautiful sun was going down.

"You can look some more, if you want." Kenji smirked, getting dressed.

"Where are you going?" I asked.

"I am getting my team and meeting up with Lorenzo."

I stood up. "The guy who you think shot up your house? Why the fuck would you do that?"

"It's just going to be a conversation. He's like ten years older. Young like me. But powerful like me as well. He says he didn't do shit. We're going to sort that out." Kenji explained.

"I'm going." I stood up.

"No-"

"Kenji I don't give a fuck if you're in the mafia. I don't give a fuck about your power and I don't give a fuck if Lorzeno is crazy powerful. I'm going with you. I can stay in the car or whatever. I just want you to be safe."

"Alex-"

"If you say no, I'll follow you. I'll do some crazy James Bond shit Kenji I swear to god. You are not going without me."

"Can I talk?"

I nodded, A small smile forming around my lips.

"I'll take you. But you keep your distance. I'll leave a few guards with you. Don't make me regret this."

I nodded. "Okay."

I waited on the top floor of the building, peering down at Kenji from a window. The building went around in a circle. Kenji and Lorenzo were in the middle. They met in the courtyard. Darkness crowded them. Lorezno was about Kenji's height. He had a type of crew cut hairstyle. Buff. He wore a leather jacket and black jeans... while my baby wore a short sleeved black shirt and black jeans with rings and necklaces. Two guards stayed with me. Kenji and Lorenzo had guards around them as well. They exchanged a few words. I looked ahead. They both drew their guns. I looked at the lower floor. A woman was running towards them. She looked familiar.

I gasped. "Zara."
