-Alex-

I don't know why I did it. I shouldn't have touched him. The adrenaline came crashing down, and instead, I felt guilty. So much guilt. I was pissed about my mom, and took my anger out on some guy. He sat two chairs awayfrom me, an ice pack on his lip. I felt bad, but I would never show it. Mrs.James, the principal, came out of her office.

"Alexandria, Kenji let's go." she said, walking back into her office.

I grabbed my backpack and headed in after her. Kenji was behind me. We both sat down in the two chairs in front of her desk.

"Now, I need both of you to tell me what happened. Alexandria, would you like to start?" Mrs.James asked.

"It's Alex. And, as you can tell, I punched him." I said, looking directly at her.

"Well why'd you do that?"

I shrugged, "He didn't treat me with respect, so I didn't treat him with respect."

"Because you earn my-"

"Didn't ask. Don't care." I sat back.

"Hey, we're not going to do that in here. Alex, what do you mean by 'he didn't treat me with respect'?" Mrs.James asked.

I sighed. Snitch on him, or look like the bad guy. "He was in my way."

Kenji quickly glanced at me.

"So you punched him for no reason?"

"I bumped into her and-"

"I took it the wrong way." I shrugged again.

"This is your first week, Alex. I expected better. Also, because this is your first week, I'm not going to suspend you. Instead, you'll have after school detention for a week starting today." Mrs.James sighed. "Now, the way we do things around here may be different from your previous school. But, you punched Kenji, you owe him an apology."

"Um." I tried not to laugh as I looked over to Kenji. I opened my mouth, but nothing came out. I should be the bigger person, but at that point, I didn't care anymore. I shook my head. "I did what I did and I can't take it back. And even if I could, I wouldn't."

Mrs.James sighed once again. "Two weeks detention."

I smiled. "That's perfect. Are we done here?"

I grabbed my things and left her office.

Two weeks detention. Yay yay fucking yay.

Detention was in a quiet classroom. Monitored by some teacher, I forgot her name. Six students, including myself, sat in the room. The rules were on the black board. No talking. No phones. No music. No food. I was bored out of my mind. Two and a half hours just because I defended myself. Well... maybe I shouldn't have touched him, but he bumped me. He was disrespectful. He deserved it. Time seemed to move oh so very slow. When we were dismissed, I was in bliss. Detention was from 3-5:30, so all the students were gone. A few teachers were still doing work. I grabbed my things and headed for an exit. Janitor's mopped the floors. I walked past classroom after classroom. My feet moved at a fast pace. Confusion and panic flew through my body as someone grabbed me and pulled me into the classroom.
