Lindsey had gotten back from the field after an exhausting practice. The dorm was completely empty when she made it back, so she went to her room to get some sleep. It was getting dark outside at around 6pm.
Lindsey didn't bother to change out of her clothes or shower, she was too tired so she just dropped on the bed and drifted off to sleep.
About half an hour later, the door opened and the light that came through the dark room woke Lindsey up. That and plus Riley's overly loud voice.
"Wake up, sleepyhead, we're going out!" She poked her head inside the room and called out. Lindsey lifted her head from the pillow and pushed all the hair away from her hair.
"Out where?" She asked in a grumpy voice.
"Just out" she shrugged, "we're thinking the woods. There's an open spot where the logs are placed and you can start a camp fire and everything"
"Are you trynna get killed by bears? And who else is going?" She sat up.
"There's no bears here, dumbass. Me and a few others wanted to get away for a little while. Take a break from all the studying" Riley explained.
"You haven't done any studying" Lindsey let out a small laugh and got up. She had already decided to go. Truth is she hated being alone and now that she was awake and had nothing better to do, she may as well have joined Riley.
"That's cuz I'm a genius and geniuses don't need to study. We just know stuff" she praised herself and put a hand on her heart to make it more convincing.
"Right" Lindsey laughed, "do I have time for a shower?"
"If you're quick with it"
"Where's AJ? Did you ask her to come?" Lindsey questioned.
"No, haven't seen her. Probably at the library. I swear all that girl does is study" Riley rolled her eyes. This pissed Lindsey off a bit. It was clear Riley wasn't very fond of AJ, although Lin kept trying to make the two get along. It seemed to her as if AJ was trying to avoid Riley as well. Maybe it was hopeless for Lindsey to think that the two complete opposites could ever be friends.
"Maybe you should try doing the same thing" she shrugged and grabbed a towel from her bag. She still hadn't unpacked.
"No, thanks. The girl's a bit weird" Riley stated and looked at her nails. They were chewed off at the ends. A bad habit she had.
"Okay, just because she doesn't dedicate her days to ruining her future like you doesn't mean she's weird" Lindsey snapped and immediately realised that was a bit harsh.
"Woah, sorry for offending you and your new bestie" Riley rolled her eyes, though she seemed a bit hurt even if she pretended to only be annoyed.
"Just... don't judge her without getting to know her first. She's actually pretty cool" Lindsey said awkwardly and grabbed all the things she needed to shower.
"Sure thing, sweets. I'll be in the living room watching TV while you shower. Call if a spider tries to eat you again" she grinned and looked back at Lindsey as she walked to the couch.
"That was one time! And it was a big spider!" Lindsey protested and went into the bathroom. Riley laughed.

AJ sat in the library with her head buried in a psychology book. They were having a quiz about the topic at the end of the week. The library was pretty empty since it was late getting late and most of the students were getting ready for a party which Dana Brooke was hosting in her dorm.
