For the short period of time that AJ managed to stop panicking, she picked out an outfit to wear at Lindsey's grandparents' house. A loose black turtleneck and baggy blue jeans. Lin had told her to dress casual since her grandparents weren't too big on formalities and preferred comfort in their home. But AJ still hoped she looked somewhat presentable:

She was still in the dorm getting ready to host auditions for the play. Putting up posters had kinda worked and more people were arriving to audition. Now AJ was forced to sit with Dana, Jeffrey and Angie.
"Hey, what time will the auditions be over?" Lindsey asked as she walked into the bedroom and sat on AJ's bed. AJ was facing away from Lin, standing in front of a mirror, but she could still see the blonde smiling at her in the mirror. She spoke without turning around,
"We should be done at around four. We can leave straight after that, I'm already packed"
"Me too. Can't wait for you to meet them. They're really kind people, you'll love them as much as I do... well I guess not as much, cuz they're not your grandparents, but you'll love them almost as much as your grandparents I'm sure, by the way, what are your grandparents like?" Lindsey went on excitedly. She talked much more when she was in a good mood. She reminded AJ of a puppy, the most adorable puppy.
AJ turned around at hearing the question and looked at Lindsey, "well, my grandma's nice. I don't see her much though... she lives with my uncle and takes care of his kids. We go to see her on holidays though, or they come to our house. She likes to cook"
"Oh! Mine too!" Lindsey piped up, "well, I guess all grandma's do" she chuckled. AJ smiled,
"Yeah"
"What about your grandpa?"
"Oh..." AJ looked away awkwardly, "he passed away some time ago... he had cancer"
Lindsey's smile fell. She looked like she had just heard the most terrible news ever, "I'm so sorry. I should've asked..."
"It's okay, you didn't know. Plus it was a long time ago so..."
"Were you close to him?"
"Yeah, he and grams took care of me while my parents were out working. But then he got cancer and passed away shortly, and my uncle had kids and I was already old enough to take care of myself so grandma moved to his house" AJ explained.
"How old were you when she moved out?" Lin asked.
"Oh, I was twelve I think. But I wasn't alone. I have two older brothers, so we just took care of each other when our parents weren't home" she shrugged. Lindsey nodded, but she had a hint of worry in her expression. AJ wanted to stop talking about herself immediately, "do... you have any siblings?"
Lindsey smiled at the question, "yeah, I'm a twin actually. My sister's name is Lorry. She's amazing"
"Oh" AJ raised her eyebrows in surprise, "identical?" Lindsey nodded her head and AJ smiled, "that's cool. Can't believe I didn't know. Will she be at your grandparents' house?"
