"I passed! I FREAKING PASSED, MOTHERFUCKERS!" Lindsey ran down the halls screaming excitedly, she rushed past all the students stressing and trying to pack in time for their flights or car drives. Lindsey almost knocked over a few girls in the hallway and kept running until she ran into someone she shouldn't have...
"Ms. Brown, is that the kind of language you should be using in a respected academy?" Mrs. Brightwood spoke, the teacher whose subject Lindsey had almost failed. A horribly mean woman with an uncontrollable left eye.
"I'm so sorry, Mrs. Brightwood, I was just really excited about passing all of my exams, see, I didn't think I even had a chance. All my friends told me I would pass, but did I believe them? No, I thought, 'there's no way I passed, I'm not smart like they are' but I studied until I physically couldn't anymore and I guess my hard work paid off. And you know how much respect I have for you, mam. I couldn't possibly look you in the eye if I had failed your exam, but I didn't! I studied and passed! I hope you can be proud of me, Mrs. Brightwood" she spoke, trying to appease to the teacher.
Mrs. Brightwood sighed, "are you done sucking up to me, ms. Brown?"
"Yes, I'm done" she grinned.
"Fine. You can go with just a warning for now, but I don't want to hear any of that language again or I'll put you in detention. I don't care that the classes are over!" She spoke strictly.
"Yes, mam. I understand. I'm sorry" she lowered her head.
"And Lindsey..." The teacher started hesitantly. The younger girl looked up at her, "...congratulations on passing all of the exams" she said quickly and Lindsey grinned, her eyes becoming wider and brighter.
"Thank you!!!" She cheered and ran off, back to her dorm where AJ was rushing through the rooms, trying to gather everything and panicking just like the rest of the school and Riley was standing by her room, leaning onto the doorway and talking to one of her friends. She looked at Lindsey when the girl walked in with an excited grin on her face.
"There's our champion!" Riley cheered and AJ stopped as well to smile.
"I'm free for the rest of the summer! What could be better than this!" Lindsey sighed in relief, making her way to the sofa and dropped, putting her legs up on the back.
AJ came over and towered down on her with her arms on her hips, she raised an eyebrow, "you still haven't started packing though"
"I will in a minute. Let me enjoy this moment" she smiled, closing her eyes and putting her arms under her head.
AJ also smiled looking at her girlfriend, "okay" she said softly and Lindsey opened her eyes. AJ looked so beautiful. The blonde sat up and opened her arms. AJ chuckled and hugged her. Lin pulled her down onto the sofa, on top of her and squeezed. AJ was giggling and Lindsey thought she sounded adorable. Riley and her friend had already gone back into her room and the door was locked. It was just the two girls in the living room.
"I'm so happy right now" Lindsey said.
"Me too" AJ replied, playing with Lin's hair. "I just wish we could be together during summer too"
"Yeah, me too..." she sighed, "I just don't wanna ruin it for my sister you know... we don't see each other as much anymore"
"No, I get that. I'm not telling you to blow her off.... But I will miss you hell of a lot" she smiled and the blonde smiled back.
"I'll call everyday. I'll call five times a day. We can speak on the phone the whole time if you want" they both laughed, "I won't let you miss me, I promise."
"Okay" AJ chuckled.
They went quiet for a sec. AJ rested her head on Lindsey's chest and was listening to her heartbeat. It was nice. Lindsey was looking around the room, thinking she would miss this place during summer. The memories they had made here. She hoped they could be roommates again next year. She could also hear the low sound of Riley's favourite song coming out of her room and heard something heavy drop near the door. Probably a wet towel. They were definitely getting high in there. Lindsey chuckled. She wondered where Dana was. Probably busy screaming at students who were already stressed out. She smiled at the thought as well. Dana's mean personality wasn't totally a bad thing in her mind anymore.
