So far, I've figured out a lot about Leandro. Like this man almost went to the Olympics. He loves swimming, hence why he has 2 pools at his house, one indoor, and another one outdoor. He prefers cats to dogs, and he loves his job. He's the favorite child because he's an only child.
"No way. What's your favorite color?"
"Dark green. Like your eyes." I instantly lower my head, blushing furiously. He knows exactly what to say.
"What about you? I barely know anything about you."
"My full name is Lunae Adrestia Marlenis. I love plants and flowers, and the best thing in the world for me is books. My favorite colors are white and baby pink, and my favorite flowers are white roses. My mother comes from Saudi Arabia, and my father is from France, so I'm half-French and half-Arabic. I am 23, and that's it."
"Wow. How precious" He smiles at me, and the waitress returns with the check. Leandro pays it, and when we get back to the car, He opens the door for me and we drive off.
When we get to his house, we each go straight to our rooms and start packing. My chest feels lighter now that he knows. I grab my phone quickly and cancel my flight. I start piling some clothes in the suitcase. I throw in some shoes and jewelry and zip it up. I grab a fairly large tote bag and shove all my essentials in it such as makeup and toiletries. With the remaining space, I add as many books as I can. I pick up a romance book that I haven't started yet.
When I'm done packing, I head to the closet and choose some more comfortable clothing. A short cream dress with a matching cardigan is what I decide. I gather my hair in a ponytail and slide on some shoes. I give my outfit a once over in the mirror, avoiding my face. I see that some of my scars are prominent. I grab my concealer and try to conceal as much as I can. I'm not ready. Not yet.
A knock resounding at the door snaps me out of my thoughts. "Lunae?"
"Yep, come in" I hear the door opening as I walk back into the room. "We'll be leaving soon. I'll take your suitcase for you" I nod, and he leaves the room, taking my suitcase with him.
I hoist my tote bag on my shoulders and grab my phone. London, here I am.
After 30 minutes, we get to the Chicago airport and do all the necessary security checks. I walk over to the normal waiting areas, but Leandro grabs my hand and leads me to the private lounge.
"We're going on my private plane, not a normal one." He answers my unsaid question, probably when he saw my confused expression. I follow him without a word, and we finally find somewhere to sit. We both plopped down on the couch. He pulls out his laptop, and I pull out my phone. I pull up Alphonsine's contact and start typing.
Sisi 🥀 🎕
Hey Sisi, I won't be going to work for around 2 weeks. I'm going to London to surprise Kiandre.
No worries, I'm coming in three days. Her biggest show is on the day I'm coming.
Okay then, I hope you won't be too overwhelmed at work.
Yeah, I'll try. And Matt will keep me company anyway.
Don't go dreaming of Aphrodite again.
Nah, this time, I'll be Persephone 😉
I drop my phone in my lap with a smile. This girl is obsessed with Greek mythology, stars, and constellations. The only reason she bought her house is that it had a balcony on top, that she could make into her little stargazing nook.
"Let's go, it's time to board" Leandro snaps me out of my thoughts, and I grab his hand as he leads me through the hallway to board the plane. We finally go through the private jet's door, and my jaw hit the floor. The interior is brown and cream-toned, and everything belongs.
"You like it?" I raise my head with a smile before answering.
"So elegant. So, you" He seems pleased with my answer. We both take a seat and get back to our own devices. Leandro in his laptop, and me scrolling through my Instagram feed.
Halfway through my new notifications, I spot Kiandre. She posted herself making a new song, and the next one is her going to bed. I like it and comment before exiting the app. Social media is wayyy too tiring. I prefer books.
Speaking of, I pull my book out of my tote bag and open the bookmark. I dive into the world of reading and cheesy romance. I feel my eyes droopy, so I slide my bookmark into the page, but I continue reading. After a few minutes, sleep consumes me.
So overseas companies need more tech resources- I'm snapped out of my work when I hear the pilot's announcement. I put my laptop back in his pouch, and I turn around to check up on Lunae when I see her sleeping. She looks so peaceful. I smile to myself, as I store her book away. It seems as if she fell asleep reading. So cute. I fasten her seatbelt, before doing my own.
When we land, I ask one of the bodyguards to grab the luggage while I go grab our handbags. It's about 3 am in Chicago, but it's 4 pm here in London. I grab the rest of the stuff in the plane, before carefully sliding my arms and picking Lunae up. My eyes widen as I realize how light she is. She needs to eat more. I carry her out of the plane, but halfway to the car, I feel her stir in my arms. I slow down my pace as I watch her wake up.
"Mhmm, are we here?" she asks me in a cute sleepy voice. "Yes, we're in London." She nods and assesses the surrounding situation. When she realizes that she is more than 5 feet in the air, she flings her arms around my neck in a hurry. I stifle a laugh and contain my amusement.
"You're not going to fall, Lunae" We finally get to the shuffle, and I lower her unto her seat. I fasten her seatbelt before taking my seat. "Now that you're awake, we'll go to the hotel, then I have to go deal with someone."
"Wait. Before you go, can you drop me off somewhere please?"
I don't like the length of my chapters, because when I was writing OWWIL, my chapters were touching two thousand, and now I can barely write a thousand-word chapter. Maybe it's writer's block.
